i have returned to the united states $3000 poorer not counting whatever loan debts i've incurred this semester and in mostly one piece albeit nigglingly delayed. taking a page from sun's book i am going to do a bullet point summary of the semester:
1. definately a lot more surprises that i expected or enjoyed in some cases.
2. the classes were disappointing but i still learned a bunch of crap from them (in the warmest sense of the word) and that kind of makes them more enraging.
3. i like the city of london. i think i finally got it last week. though it's expensive as fuck and i could do with a more equitable exchange rate...all the best stuff is free or at least pretty cheap (monument and highgate i am looking at you)
4. i actually met new colgate people in my class year who i really liked. exemplary examples: my flatmates, makina, and julia. honorable mention to nikki, who is 2008.
5. even when down to one suitcase i pack too much. which is astronomically less than everybody else but i also buy way too many books when i go places and that just causes all sorts of problems.
6. sun robinson is a saint. i fell out of touch with her sophomore year and that was a dumb move of me because i lost out on a lot of time with a grand person. probably lots of other grand people but i was a major tool at the end of freshman year. but anyways, were it not for her infinite patience i probably would have gone insane and i am forever grateful for that.
7. the next incarnation of my hair remains shrouded in mystery even to me.
8. i hate planes.
9. having subjected the world at large to more than enough bitching regarding topic 9 already, i'll just assume the reader will know what this one would have been about and roll their eyes accordingly because yes, it does still hurt and i am extremely bitter about it.
10. i'm now more acutely aware of how much i enjoy looking at stuff in general.
11. i think too much.
the end. i go back to hamilton on friday to see of my childrens. and then next week will be devoted to starting to work out a project.
