Blogging from work... I love it when I'm the last one here and all these other computers are left open. Using some other PC to log in and do stuff while I'm still doing my job. I love when my jobrequires only the ability to talk with another person, and occasionally turn around and type on the PC from which I'm actually working.
So this one gets devoted to my work place, and the bug-riddled cesspool it is. First things first... anyone ever work on a thin client connecting to a server halfway across the country? It's not fun. It likes to freeze up and do random, buggy things at you. This is coupled with the fact that I now technically am an employee of Hilton reservations headquarters in Dallas, after having worked at the previous location for two years. Though they told us they wouldn't change anything, this of course meant that everything I knew was a lie and so everything was about to change. All of the things with which I was comfortable have been removed, and I'm sure, non-existent reader, that you do not care to hear the details, so I won't get into them.
The positive is a big one, and it makes me happy despite all the shit that's been piled on. The few of us who remain working at home/small office in the area are now part of Dallas. Though this means that all the policies change, it also means that there are approximately 10 times the people there were taking the same amount of calls. Now, nobody comesonto my line pissed about having been on hold for 15 minutes, and there's space between calls, which allows me to type this. I have more leeway, despite their attempts to constrict me, when it comes to leaving early, or doing other things. The only real threat they've got is dismissal, but all the rules on that are set in stone. I'm perhaps now one of the worst people they've got in terms of staying for my whole shift, or actually working during my shift, but so long as I keep the stats in the right places all they can do is watch as I pull bare minimum. My god that was a long post, and completely inane. that said, this weeks gonna be good.
