So, after-concert... I got an into-eternity hoodie, only merch I got though. The sound guy from the concert probably had to run away after the show because each set took over half an hour to set up because of his fuck-ups. It took 45 minutes for Into Eternity set to start, and even then they did it with only one mic when they usually have two. It took about 15 minutes for the second mic to finally kick in, and the band compared it to Christmas. When Epica went on, both mics were working, but it was obvious that the sound guy had continued to bone things, and it took 45 minutes for that set as well, during which a chant of "fire the sound guy" started (I am not a chanter, but I nearly started going along with it). I have a history of buying tickets to shows for the minor bands, and paying more attention to them than to the headliners (not going to be the case with any of the next four concerts I've got lined up in the next couple months), so I sorta faded when Symphony X took the stage. They were good, but I wasn't really there to hear them as much as the other bands. I left immediately after their set.
Driving 70 miles after being up about 20 hours after four hours of sleep is not recommended. I think the fact that I knew this was coming saved me from doing stupid shit like falling asleep on the way home--Two extra-large cans of monster tend to keep even the most tired me awake. Too bad I can't stand the taste of it or the drive would have been enjoyable.
