Food poisoning sucks. Looks like I'm about over it, though, luckily. Between 9pm Friday and 5pm Saturday, I did nothing but lay in bed ... in between trips to the bathroom. I felt a little better last night and slipped off to the Ship around 8.30 or 9, but was home by 11.30, and the rest of the night passed about the same way as...

Well, saw the Hentchmen play a couple great sets Monday night, and went out boozin' with them the next night. Was really cool seeing friends from home. They're coming back to London Monday or Tuesday after spending a few days playing around the UK.

Last night in a fit of drunken foolishness, I was offered and accepted a job at the Ship.

No, I'm serious...

ah drunken foolishness.... some of my best choices have been made during that time period.... luckily i'm half way there right now.. pre-birthday binging has begun..

a stomach tattoo sounds more painful than sit-ups... i'd rather have sand kicked in my face at the beach... tattoos are more of a commitment than i can make... i can barely choose a favourite beer.. i've alaways liked the kraftwerk robots though... maybe i could live with them.,..

fatherhood is treating me fairly well... luckily the kid won't be able to talk shit about me for years.... and by then i'll be senile anyway... i'll be telling her to stay away from scott baio...

death to the liver!

Right ....

Well, ok, it's been, what, a week or so since I've updated? I've lost track. I don't have net access at home, and the UK is so damn difficult to get anything done that I probably won't have until I move back to the States. Christ, they want to know your whole life history just because you want to sign up for broadband...

Thanks for the song. Duly stashed amongst my bits & pieces. I know of that song - but only the title; I have never heard it, that I know of shocked (Thinks ...) .Didn't the Pogues do it? I know they did the one I posted - but, having seen them live (Shane McGowan era) I could have heard it & not realised. biggrin
Good news on your alcohol intake then. Keep it up.
smile

Late Saturday night:

Well, tonight I did much better. On the advice of a good friend (thank you, Aosoth), I left the house with only 20, promising myself that when it ran out, I'd just go home. I came home with exactly 4.30, the price of a double whiskey at The Ship, so I came in under budget. Not only that, but I could have...

Alright, God damnit, thats just enough, or too much yeah, too much.

Treating my first 6 weeks in London like a 6-week New Orleans vacation has gotten me very little other than shaky hands and a drastically shrunken bank account. Im not here to drink myself to death (a guy at school yesterday started calling me Leaving Las Vegas), and I probably shouldnt identify as...

Maybe this girl will start giving you shit whenever you drink too much. Sometimes not wanting to let folks down is what keeps me out of trouble.
nerdboy2345:
slap slap, get ahold of yourself. the fact that you realize its getting too crazy is good, but stopping the madness is another thing, i suppose. i hate when plans with girls go awry. i really hate it

Well, I went through most of last week without drinking, but it all caught up to me in the end.

Saturday night, met a bunch of the SGUK crew out, but I was in a savage sort of mood and sort of ran alone a lot of the night. We were all drinking at the Ship but I fucked off to the Fox and sort...

Ah, sobriety

Well, it's only the end of Day One, but it's much-needed. My body is just all wired wrong these days. Weeks and weeks of binge drinking, and a lot of gaps in memory and bank account to show for it.

I was going to go for about a 2-week break, but promised to show up at a big party at one of my...

Sounds like you have a good plan. I usually take a week or two off before I go back on a binge. Lately I have toned it down because of responsibilities with work. Now I have to go on vacation so I could go on a good binge. skull

Here is a shot of Whiskey. ARRR!!!

Good to see you again on Sat. Speaking of binge drinking ..... biggrin
OK I 'paced' myself but Saturday was the start of a brilliant weekend.
Good luck with your spell of sobriety

Welp, more or less settled in to the new place. I love it. It's sooooo nice to have my own space.

Bummer: went into St John to try to get a job on Friday. They told me they're overstaffed already and have a waiting list of people who want to work there. Utter shit for luck, but I'm going to keep going back and pestering...

Glad the move went ok. Is it a one bedroom place? You lucky man. I went to Spitalfields yesterday and it was dire. It took me about and hour to make my way round all the stalls and it was filled with shite. I did manage to get some nice wild boar salami and some celtic bread though. St John's bread and wine was queued out the door when I left. Offal must be pretty popular nowadays huh smile

Hey man, these sunday drinking sessions with you is seriously fucking my liver up! smile Woke up at 4 this morning with a piss of monstrous proportions and some heartburn to boot.
At six the headache crept up on me, and by the time my alarm went off, I had a full blown hangover. Needless to say I was as usefull as a chocolate teapot today at work....
Went to Jerry Hall's house again today - spent 3.5 fucking hours there. Did manage to see her ugly daugter. Which is not that ugly, mind.. smile Now I'm chilling with some wine. biggrin

About to call a mini-cab and move my stuff to the new place. Probably be pretty much offline for a few days

Sunday started out good

Took it easy Saturday night, woke up earlyish (around 10, i think), went down to Camden to shop for a new jacket, bought a kick ass new ring, was drinking water by the litre bottle, and then ran into Aosoth and Adam73 as they were outside a pub drinking in the cold rain (and getting their picture taken by tourists), so...

Signing the contract on my new flat on Monday. Can't wait to get out of here, but you already know that.

Been destroying myself the last few nights ... I keep meeting Josh down in SoHo after he gets off work at the tat shop. Seriously ... if I start drinking at 4 or 5pm in the Ship or the Fox, it's pretty much a...

my soup was seriously the awesomest...I just made a new lot yeaterday...
It's butternut squash, carrots, parsnips, leeks, sweet potato, red onion, rosemary and thyme, roasted for 50 mins and then simmered with veg bouillon and mashed roughly (because I don't have a blender)
It's sooooo goooooooooood (if I do say so myself!)
I think soup is the best invention of all time, especially when you're trying to eat less like me. I hardly ever cook these days because I'm on a permanent diet, and I am quite good at it when I try! I never even eat out b/c I'm poor, crap or what.
You seem like a man who likes his food! You can eat enough for me too, then I wont be missing out!

So the Yankees are up 2 games to none over the Red Sox, who have now probably lost the pitcher that was supposed to be their edge over the Yankees for the rest of the playoffs, due to a torn tendon in his right ankle that's going to require surgery to fix. Their other ace pitcher, who scares the piss out of every other team...
