So at work tonight, I made dinner for Tyra Banks, then I came home and dropped $20 into a poker game my flatmate had running, and ended up with $69

All in all .... good night.

Besides that, Univ. Texas kicked the shit out of Univ. Oklahoma.

Good day.

Cruised up the PCH to Ventura this afternoon

My best friend and former flatmate from Chicago was in town for work, so I rolled up to hang out a bit.

Man .... what a gorgeous drive that can be. Traffic was light, road was fun and twisty, look just to your left to see the ocean just hanging out right there next to you ---...

I got all that shit done yesterday except the laundry bit, so that's on for today

Also my best friend is in town from Chicago .... well, sort of. He's up in Ventura, but it's close enough that I'll make the run up to hang out later.

Gig was hot.

Well....

The first band (Fair Verona, from Co. Tipperary in Ireland) was hot,...

To-do list:

- laundry
- go to Target to buy white t-shirts since work is getting grumpy about me wearing black under my white chef's coats.
- organize my trip back to Dallas to get my stuff for...

I started writing my book on my trip to Portugal tonight.

Too early to tell what form it will take.

It is next to impossible to offend me on any topic, least of all religion. Sure, sincerity is always welcome, but in the case of religion, I do think a healthy bit of irreverence comes in handy. However, I am fully equipped to raise my reverence level to that of whomever I should be discussing religion with! ;o) So, it is really up to you to set the standard for any such discussion. Do what you will! :o)

Always great fun to meet total strangers in a strange land biggrin

So, believe it or not, it's my day off, and so's tomorrow, and I'M NOT DRUNK

That's right, kids, I'm chilling at home, sipping a couple beers, but clearheaded and sober.

Which means I won't sleep for shit tonight and will feel like ass most of the day tomorrow while I'm out running errands and doing laundry and all that nonsense.

Fantastic!

Also, I've been...

That just means you have time to tell me WHY you studied theology in the first place and what you think of it now! ;o)

I just got back in touch with a guy I was good friends with in college, but lost touch with about 12 years ago. The internet is awesome.

I'm about to walk down to the beach. I have not actually done this yet since arriving in LA, even though the hotel is across the street from the beach.

And I need some food. Had my...

Beaches and friends, sounds like you age getting into the good stuff. I'm off to eat last night's chilli, which is bound to taste at least five times better than it did yesterday biggrin
abyssia:
You graduated in Theology!?! My excitement comes from the fact that I was in school for religious studies - and there just aren't that many people who graduate in Theology! Nifty. Do tell, please.

You're right, ten years is nothing. So now rather than seize the day, it's more like seize the hour. ;o) Hope that pizza was good! And I'm glad you found that friend from so very long ago. Time.... hahaha.

It's funny having a convo with a girl that you've slept with and probably will sleep with again, and her telling you who you should have slept with and should sleep with if you get the chance

Hilarious

That's one hell of a girl. Reminds me of me ten years ago. Oops... Giving away my age.

I wanted to thank you for everything you wrote in my journal. I really appreciate you taking the time. Sometimes I just need to think through things. I don't really edit, I just type. I question my assumptions and then I question the answers I arrive at. I am keenly aware that there are many who have it much harder than I do, and that this is just part of a cycle for me. I need to work through it, every goddamned time. But reading things like what you wrote, that kind of support and caring, that helps, a lot. Thank you.

Sure thing!
