Obligatory WTF about the new layout comment: Aha! So that's where the 'new post' button is!
(edited to add: once you edit a post you can't have it be for members only anymore. you can "show smilies and inserts", which gives you the option of seeing the "for members" setting, but it appears to get ignored. I've yet to test if the members only works at all - surely it must work on the initial post).

Well, my extended weekend trip has come to an end. I'm sitting in the JFK airport about two hours ahead of when my plane boards. I will definitely be coming back for another weekend romp. I got to see old friends, new sights, and meet new friends. That's right, after only a single night of knockedslobbery I'm going to label you friend. Oh, on that note, if I missed sending you an SG friend request don't be hesitant to send one my way (although I guess if I missed you then you probably won't be reading this).
I have a bunch of photos to filter through. I starting doing some of that work on my laptop, but the display on my laptop is not color calibrated and is very much on the bright-side, so I run the risk of tweaking them all into being too dark. I can adjust the gamma, and to some extend the contrast, but not the brightness. I'll probably just hold off on "developing" the photos until I get home and can work them on my CRT.
Let's see. Highlights and regrets from the trip:

Let's see. Highlights and regrets from the trip:
Friday
- Highlight: I made it from JFK to Port Authority, using the MTA, on my own. I know now how simple that is, but the map is mighty intimidating.
- Regret: The Sofitel Hotel has normal, boring bathrooms.
- Highlight: Eating as Ellen's Stardust Diner. It was campy, but fun. I thought I recognized one of the employees. Send me a message if that was you.
Saturday
- Highlight: I wondered around parts of Central Park. I think it is great that New Yorkers have that - I really do. I could, however, feel the manufacturedness of it. It was path, tree, rock, path, tree, rock, repeat.
- Highlight: I checked out the new Apple Store on 5th Ave. It's shiney!
- Highlight: Meeting some of the SGNY clan. Awesome! Friendly and sexy those folks are, and not a single one of them attempted to mug me.
- Regret: Not doing a multi SB set with kingsnake. I would have rocked his world (or perhaps vice versa)!
- Regret: Not grabbing LaceyK's ass just a little bit harder.
- Highlight: Making it from East Village to Union City on my own. Now that was exciting and required a little more brainpower than JFK to PA.
Sunday
- Visiting BH Photo Video. A candystore for Photo and Videophiles.
- Highlight: Roosevelt Island. No, really. It is small and I covered just about every inch of it and I got some fantastic pictures. That was the point of that trip. It was a photography outting.
- Highlight: Not getting trapped in the Puertorican Day Parade Madness. I'm not being racist. I'm just saying that was a level of potential mayhem that I was not preparred for. I avoided the Times Square New Year's countdown for the same reason.
- Highlight: Amazing dumplings in Chinatown!
Monday
- Highlight: Slept in and relaxed and didn't check-in with work.
- Regret: Sitting in a terminal; waiting for the plane that will take me back home to work and responsibility and the end of my weekend trip.
I was ready and waiting for that set too!!!!
But I am so happy you had fun!
