Today was my first day of college in more than four years. Before now, every time I tried to sign up for classes, I'd get deployed within the next week. First to germany, then to Louisiana, then to Iraq. Finally I have a little bit of time off before Afghanistan.
I'm taking Intro to Chem, English Comp and Intro to Psych. All core classes that I neglected the last time I was in school ('01-'02) It's not a very intensive course load, as I already am familiar with most of the subject matter. But who knows, hanging around with 18-19 year olds may actually bring down my level of comprehension.
I was talking with a girl in my English class, introducing ourselves and whatnot, and she asked me about my time in Iraq. I told her that I started off at the notorious Abu Gharab Prison before we moved to the slightly less notorious Camp Cropper. She looked at me with a totally clueless expression. She didn't know about the controversial happenings that happened less than four years ago.
I feel old. I feel like my life and the events that happen therein are all evaporating around me. Kids....

But I have to say I know what happen in Iraq but I didn't know the names of the prisons... so I had to think a bit before making the links in my head. So maybe you should cut us a little bit of salck (I don't says it in a mean way)
