Man xmas is coming fast this year. Are you guys ready? Technically, I think I am... presents purchased and wrapped, xmas eve dinner planned, guests invited - but somehow it just doesn't feel *right* It could be the lack of treeness in my house - I made the choice not to put myself through that misery with the cats. Both my (now adopted) foster cats are new to my home this year, so I've never experienced either of them with a tree in the house. They're already little monsters with the basic stuff in my house, I don't need them getting stuck in my xmas tree, breaking ornaments. I also haven't done like any baking at all - so busy with the stress of selling/buying my house. Maybe that's it. Maybe it's that I miss my family so much this time of year.
Someone close to me lost a baby very recently. I feel just awful. Moreso because I just don't know what to say. I let her know that I would be there for her to talk if she needed to... I told her I was very sorry for her and her partner's loss. What else can you say in a situation like that? This is someone from back home... I wonder if I should offer to go home to comfort her? I mean, she was so very excited about having a baby... she called me and we were both so happy. Hard to believe that was just last week.
On a different note, I got to see I Am Legend on Friday night with some friends. It was great. Some very tense moments. My only complaint might be the cgi work... I thought most of it w as amazing, but the, hmm, roaring (?) of the main Infected guy seemed very reminiscent of the soldier mummies in The Mummy (1999). Which was a good movie, don't get me wrong... it's just very 1999. Aside from that, "I Am Legend" is definately absolutely worth seeing.
The rescue wrapped up its last day of Pet Pictures with Santa yesterday. I got two full days of volunteering in with that. It was fun. Tiring, but fun
You would not believe the volume of dressed up chihuahuas in The City though... my goodness. Three of my friends from the theatre came to help out as well, which was great. I enjoyed their company.
