The response to my rejected set has been amazing - thanks so much to all those who commented (and boosted my self-esteem
). If there's anybody out there who would like to view it, here's a link.
Work Drama-Rama
I'm in dire need of advice in my work situation. Here's the rundown:
* my manager is 19 years old and likes to abandon her post at work (often to go to the bar), leaving us under-staffed and many of us under-trained.
* she's known for her bad temper and intense yelling sessions.
* we had four of our best guys quit in a ten-day span because of her behaviour (b*tchiness).
* two weeks ago we had a meeting, wherein she requested that a few of us "step up" and take on more responsibility and train for supervisory positions - since then she's done nothing but abuse us in our new posts: leaving in the middle of shifts, not bothering to show for shifts, leaving us with work we don't know how to do, she's even scheduled one girl in for every foreseeable Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
I really don't want to quit. This is seriously the best job I have ever had - I don't think I've ever been so stoked to go to work as I am now. The manager is the only problem. One friend and I have been discussing having a "talk" with our manager at like a restaurant or something, where there won't be a scene. Alternatively, many of my friends who have quit are considering writing a letter to head office, alerting them to certain things that would definately get our manager fired.
See, the situation is complicated by friendship. I'm friends outside of work with my manager.... shopping trips into the city, we have kittens that are siblings, she even came with me when I had to put my cat to sleep in the summer. If I think about it rationally, she might actually listen to me and the other girl that we're friends with, but she's not always the most rational person :S Any suggestions????
Xmas
Is coming faster than I'd like this year. Since my family is pretty much all out of province (except for one cousin and of course trocar ), I have to buy presents early and ship them back home. I wish I could ship myself back home too... especially this year... my mom is turning 50 and I'd so love to be there to celebrate with her. Sadly, it's just too expensive.
Anniversary
It was four years ago on Friday night that my brother was in that terrible car accident. The anniversary of his death is tomorrow. It was four years ago today that two of my sisters and I went for matching tattoos in honour of our brother... we went to see him in intensive care right after. We never saw him again.
