Turn and face the Strange
I posted my rejected set in the SG Hopefuls group a few days ago - just to see what might happen. I was genuinely surprised at the responses. Thanks to all of my friends who commented on my set... who knows, I may go pink someday afterall
I missed the big Hallowe'en party last night
Sadness and woe. I seem to have been beaten with the flu stick... *sniffles* I'm really looking forward to Hallowe'en though - I love to see the little trick-or-treaters and give them lots of candy. I also like to count the Jedis, lol.
Selling my house is not going very well. Being the lousy housekeeper that I am, the house is constantly in a state of disarray - when there is a showing (this hasn't happened many times, yet) I scramble to make the place presentable. On my realitor's advice, I hide the pets' dishes and litter box, put the cats in their carrier and toss them and the dog into my car when someone is scheduled to view the house... it sucks so much freaking ass. On Friday there was a showing about 2 hours before my shift started, so I needed a lot of help to get my pets situated... then I hung out at work forEVER waiting for something to do.
Oh oh oh! Speaking of work, a projectionist position came up - and I'm getting trained for it! This job would entail supervisory duties as well as being responsible for threading & running the films. I'm very excited. Though, I must say, I'm not very happy about *how* the job became available... we had FIVE people quit over a ten-day period. The reason for four of them was dissatisfaction with our current manager, and I really can't say that I blame them for it. Our manager is 18 years old, she yells and bitches and plays favourites with employees, and she also often leaves work to go to the bar next door to the theatre. For those of you who are unaware, the drinking age in this province is 18. I actually had to shut down the whole theatre (projectors, concession, set the alarm, everything) - when I'd never ever done it before - twice this past week because she was out on dates. Yikes. I'm not sure how long our company will let her stay in charge, to be honest. We've lost a couple really good guys because of her behaviour.
The anniversary of my brother's car accident is coming up next week. I never look forward to that. His accident was on the third of November, and he died on the ninth of November. It's always a mega hard week for me. I can't belive this will be four years...
