New Job/Stalkerella - continued

I have a new-found admiration for waitresses. Man that job is difficult! I went in for my "official interview" on Monday evening and stayed to work a shift. Before I get into the details of that, I should let you all know that my stalker showed up! I was waiting for my interview to begin and he walks in. "Hey cutie, you wanna dance?" My eyes dart back down to the menu I was studying. He smiles and walks past me, then turns around and calls my name in a mock-surprise/questioning way (for example, "Marvel?"). Then he sits down at my table and says, "I seriously didn't know it was you at first" (keep in mind, the first time he met me I was in my sweats and searching for dog poo), then he says, "Oh, wait, no, I think your friend (that he had spoken to on the telephone on Saturday) had mentioned that you were working here." I tried to bitch it up as much as possible, my eyes drifting back to my menu and sipping my Pepsi.

He starts asking me why I want to work here, kind of trying to prep me for the interview with the owner. I told him that I was poor and needed money, that's why. He then told me to "Get the f*ck out of here then!" Rather forcefully. I then got a lecture on the fact that that's nothing you tell an employer (yah, I know, dumbass - thanks). He told me that I'd be better off at one of the restaurants a few blocks away, we'll call it The Window for now. Stalker says that I should go with him up to The Window and he'd help me get a job. I told him that I was committed to being here tonight, and that I really wanted to give the place a chance. He got freaking beligerent with me and told me he was coming back to pick me up in a little bit to go to this other place. Scary.

Turns out I really impressed the owner and he put me to studying the computer and menu right away. Stalkerella comes back and mocks what I was doing, and he looked hurt that I refused to go anywhere with him (I'm waaaaaay smart enough not to go anywhere with strange men). He blew me off at the end of the conversation, saying, "Geez, you try and help somebody..." and walked off. But not before adding, "See you around."

I found out, also, that he approached my neighbour's 13 year old daughter, asking her, "So what do people do for fun around here?" Crazy creepy.

Waitressing is hard, did I mention that already? And I'm not very good at it. I did learn how to pour some drinks and carry trays without spilling, so that was cool. I accidentally ordered fish & chips on the computer though, the chef made it and I got yelled at by a veteran waitress. The tips were good, the atmosphere sucked (I'll have to give that one to Stalkenheimer). They want me to stay until 4am on Saturdays though (approx. 11hours), and I'm just not into that. I don't need *that* much work, just something to fill a gap in my finances and get my kitty all fixed up.

You Quit After Your First Shift?!

Yup. I totally did. Swearing-Drinking-Gambling-Smoking-TheGreatStalkini-Drunksgrabbingmybehind is apparently not my scene. What to do now? Well, immediately after letting the bar know that I wasn't interested in coming back, I went to the movie theatre. That was my Number One choice to work at anyway - I hadn't yet dropped off a resum there because they're not open until evening, and I'm mostly in that area during the day. Anyway, I got there just in time to talk with the manager - and it looks like I've got the job! Mostly teenagers work there, so my resum read like a Harvard graduate's as far as they're concerned. They're okay with me only working one night a week and said I could most likely pick up extra shifts anytime. Cool. Plus, free movies - which will in turn save me tons of money. Awesome.

Skittles are Dangerous

Sunday night I was snacking on some Skittles after dinner. I like to put like ten in my mouth at once and kind of make a paste with them..... well, that wasn't smart. I got my tongue barbell between my teeth and bit down - cracked two molars. I am now the proud owner of a $500 bag of Skittles - want some? Thank goodness for dental plans (Lisa needs braces.... Dental Plan..... Lisa needs braces..... Dental Plan......)

Well waitressing does suck but the money can be good. Overall though I am glad you took what I would have gone with and went with the theatre. Yes it is less money but the free movies and the fact that it is a fun job make up for it.

I would seriously be careful with the stalker. It may seem harmless at first but as you reject this person more and more they may become angrier and angrier. I hope that he is not someone you see regularly. I have not kept up on your blog and for that I apologize but are you really nervous or scared of this guy?

Thats why I dont have any shrapnel in my body. No tongue rings, no ear rings, no nothing. When I was younger I pulled some kids tongue ring out after he was talking shit at the pool hall. I took all the jewelry he had that night. So now you understand why I dont have any.

Well I hope your recovery is speedy. Going to the dentist is always hell.

Its Springbreak right now but I consider it more of the week where I can nap everyday. I will start posting more soon as midterms are next week for a few classes. One summer comes I will have nothing to do but write.

I got my bike paid for but I cant pick it up until they call!!! And its been a nice 60-70 degrees lately.

Either way I hope you feel better and if your willing to pay for the car rental I could bring my guns up and talk to your stalker. ;-)

Got to go my neighbors are drunk and screaming shit outside the door.
