Jamer Tattoos
If you're in or around the Victoria, BC area - give my friend Jamer a call. He's just opening up a new studio in Chinatown. This guy is freaking amazing. He's also a blast to just hang out with
I'm really really super hoping I can snag Jamer for a couple of days this summer to work on my arm-piece. There's really nobody else I'd want. Jamer did a pretty wicked anchor on one of my family members a few years back, and it looks so crisp.
Trip Update
The visit with the fam has been great so far. I was surprised to hear my trip is half over - have I really not been sleeping for two weeks? Wow. LoL, well, technically I'm sleeping, it's just broken several times per night. I'm not bitter, this place is busy
I made some buns and some banana muffins (yes, I had to sing the song again) today. Tomorrow I'll take some buns to my gramma's place for lunch - she's making turkey soup. I'll see another one of my sisters tomorrow evening, and I'm really super stoked on that, she's pretty awesome. As many siblings as I can wrangle together are having a giant sleepover next weekend. Neat-o. If they all are able to come, it'll be so awesome.
Freaky
Yesterday I took my mom for her follow-up appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon. He's the same doctor who operated on my shoulder about nine years ago; he also happens to share an office with two of my other surgeons (one hip, one shoulder). The doctor comes into our little room and greeted us both (he recognized me right away and asked how my shoulder was). After some general talk about recovery time and such with my mom, he ducked out of the office and called in his resident; he introduced my mother and described the procedure she had done. Then he turns to me and introduces the fellow to me, and then goes into a very technical diatribe about my surgery; I caught very few words ("completely open proceedure," and "multidirectional dislocations" were a few that I managed to understand). The younger doctor turns to me, his eyes widen, and he says, "I wonder if it would be alright if I - I manipulated your arm a little?" I laughed a little, and said okay. "Oh. Oh. Oh wow..." he mused under his breath. LoL, sometimes it's fun being a freak.
