Happy 2007
I hope everyone had a safe and fun time ringing in New Year's Eve
Personally, I had a pretty good time. I was taken to a nice Chinese restaurant for dinner - buffet-style, mmm mmm mmmm. Rented Star Wars Lego 2 for the xBox, and also got SNL's The Best of Alec Baldwin - very funny. Got to watch some fireworks from my front porch; the dogs went mental, and I initially thought that some drunkard was banging on a neighbour's window - nope, just fireworks. Had a pretty good view, but there was a big ass tree that prevented seeing too many of the lower works. I made a blender of strawberry daquiris, and nachos - I finished *both* all by myself. You might think I'd be feeling puke-tastic, but I'm actually okay. Slept in a bit, and now I'm slowly munching a granola bar and nursing a strawberry-banana smoothie.
And, what a way to kick off the new year - one of the animals vomited and I stepped in it. Loverly. I can't tell if it's a smallish amount of dog puke, or a large amount of cat puke. Hmmm, some mysteries just aren't meant to be solved.
I'm taking down the Christmas decorations today. That's never easy for me. Christmas is my favouritest time of year, and it's hard to let it be all over. The one cool thing is, though, that when the tree goes I'm planning to move my Star Wars cabinet out of the dining room and into the living room - I'll be able to see it better
"Star Wars cabinet?" you might say... yes, I have an entire cabinet of Star Wars memorabilia. A few years ago it was Star Wars/Lord of the Rings/Chinese knick-knacks; as the SW collection began to grow, out went the Chinese stuff. Lord of the Rings still maintains one shelf in the cabinet, but Star Wars has claimed three shelves and the top of the cabinet. And my walls. It's all over. I'd really like to get the SW Lego ships built again and suspended from the ceiling (always a good conversation piece). I have pics of what the cabinet looked like a couple months ago in my "Faves" album.
Resolutions
Okay, I don't believe in making resolutions. I have a couple of *goals* though:
1) to be a better listener; often I just talk and talk and talk and talk, and I could probably learn a lot more & be a better friend if I listened better.
2) to make healthier food choices; Christmas time is always a time where I slack off in that department, and that's okay, but through the year, more veggies, more water, more betters.
3) to spend more time in the real world; I'm on SG a freaking *lot* and most of you who know me know that I have to avoid MSN because my chatty sisters and I can spend fraking hours on there. Need to be grounded in the real world just a teensy bit more.
For those of you who make goals or resolutions when the New Year rolls around, what are they? What's your plan of attack as far as reaching your goal?
All the best!
