Much Better
Okay, I got my flight booked back home. It cost more than I had hoped, but it was my own fault for not booking it last week. My mom and gramma both pitched in, and it took some Christmas money too, but we did it. Whew. I'm happy to have it over and done with. I'll have to leave my house at something like 5:30am, but at least I got a cheaper flight
Thanks for all your well-wishes.
Why am I going home now? Aside from having a bit of a late Christmas with the family, I'm going to help my mom out for a bit - she's having shoulder surgery and will need help doing housework and driving and stuff. She doesn't think she'll need me to do too much (she's hella stubborn), but I've had my shoulder operated on twice - the last time I was in a body cast - and I let her know that this'll be no picnic. My mom also helps my grandparents out a lot, and it's them that will probably need me the most - going to the grocery store, the senior's centre, the doctor's office, stuff like that.
I have a lot of family to visit too, a freaking LOT. I have four sisters that I can't wait to see, and my brother, and then my niece too.... plus aunts and uncles and cousins and the cousin who still thinks she's my cousin but who is really my half sister, lots of people. I really really hope I get to take a road trip to see one cousin in particular, the very loverly Ms Caducus, whom I have not seen since... since... way too long ago, I think it was 2003.
Other Stuff
I am completely immersed in "World War Z" by Max Brooks (who was also the author of the "Zombie Survival Guide" - which I happen to have framed in a shadow box in my living room). I got it as a Christmas present, and I'm about half-way thru at this point. I've only had to almost put it in the freezer once, so I'm good. Only one nightmare, I think I'm doing pretty well. You'd think someone who was as close to the death "industry" as I was, someone who loves horror movies, wouldn't be so frightened - but I am. Zombies freak me out. Biggest fear. Zombies. *shudders*
Still working on trying to kick the chocolate milk habit. I'm not going through quite as much.
R-Dog ate all of Bear's Christmas chews. He's kind of a jerk. I took them both for a nice long romp in the snow yesterday - they're still recovering, lol. They were really cute, just bounding through the powder. I could tell Bear really wanted to head home nearing the end of our walk, he just kept looking at me with those, you know, puppy-dog eyes.

And here's that pic that I posted in my first blog today. I like photoshop

And thank you for the sweet comment - you're adorably gorgeous yourself
No roomies lined up yet, I have to still talk to Moogle and see if him and his roommates will take me in.
