Trick or Treat
So I'm at the store buying some school supplies and there it is, the Hallowe'en candy. Already. It is August for goodness sakes. Now, I love Hallowe'en, I really do - it's one of my favourite holidays. But do I really need the agrivation of getting all excited about it this early in the game? And the planning involved... what am I going to wear? Will I have a party this year? Should I go with hokey decorations or a genuinely frightening theme this year? Which trick-or-treating route will I take this year? And think about all those poor little kiddies, seeing the candy and getting antsy about the holiday two months early. Mind you, I'm sure a lot of parents will just buy the candy and let their little monsters eat it at their leisure, which will most likely mean larger costumes when the day actually does roll around.

I used to work retail and it's understandable that the stores just want to drill it into peoples minds. "HALLOWE'EN IS COMING BUY OUR CRAP!" Obviously its the one major holiday where candy suppliers make a killing so they are trying to capitolize on this knowledge. Pretty soon we will be buying Hallowe'en stuff for the year to follow. But most parents buy the candy to shut their kids up....such a sorry sight when you work and see it happen. Hmm i wonder what i will be this year.... and if you have a costume in mind ... you gotta let us see
