Looking forward to the 2007 release of the new Transformers movie. One of my favourite television shows as a kid, I used to dream of kissing the autobot, Jazz (who is going to be in this flick, btw). You can view the trailer at http://www.transformersmovie.com/
This is a Dreamworks/Steven Spielberg project (Paramount will be handling the international release of the film), so my hopes are fairly high. Michael Bay is directing (also directed flicks like 'Armaggedon,' 'Pearl Harbour' & 'Bad Boys II.' He's also produced some pretty decent remakes like 'The Amityville Horror' {2005} and 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' {2003}). The cast is also really really strong: Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime's original voice! Also in a ton of Disney cartoons, My Little Pony episodes, Rainbow Brite, the list goes on), John Turturro, Bernie Mac, Dane Cook (who is so so so so so funny - "Waffle Man! He's the Waffler, gold and crispy, bad guys are history, yeow!" That's right, 'Mystery Men'), Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Voight, Amaury Nolasco (Sucre from 'Prison Break'), and Zack Ward (you'll remember him from the t.v series 'Titus' and 'Freddy vs. Jason'), plus many others.
With the amzing capabilities of today's CG artists, this movie could be really good. I do see one major downfall so far, however. The writers. Oh my. Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman teamed up to write some of my least favourite movies: "Mission: Impossible: III," "The Island," and "The Legend of Zorro." One or both of them has/have penned the screenplay for "Star Trek XI" as well - not something I'd brag about.*
In short, I'm torn. I love the story. The cast makes me wet. And I have absolutely no faith in the writers. We'll have to wait until July 4th, 2007 though. Do you think tix are on sale yet? Who's gonna camp out with me? I'll bring my BumbleBee if you bring your Soundwave.

* my sincere appologies to the Trekkers and Trekkies out there - I don't mean to offend, ST just isn't my thing

I myself was a big fan of them when I was younger, and can say still today.
Thanks for the info on the movie and the link to it's main page.
