Empty wine bottles all over the floor, vaporized weed dust on the coffee table, filthy plates and glasses jumbled in the sink, and a pile of dirty lingerie you could conceal a 1969 Volkwagen Beetle under.

I hate cleaning up after hedonists. Even though I'm one of the ones who made the mess.

My poor dumb doggy just had to have four teeth pulled, two of them in the bottom front. He looks like a first-grader. He's so cute with the little gap in his teeth when he "smiles" for his dinner. But it's a reminder of how very old he's getting. It breaks my heart.

I'm back to my ordinary life, ordinary schedule.

Quite overwhelmed by novelty for the last couple of weeks:
First, a few days in Yosemite for the delicious anniversary fun.
Next, one of our dear, sweet, very best pals came all the way from Florida for a weekend. Copious quantities of weed were vaporized, and vast, beautiful meals were consumed.

Yosemite was gorgeous. I want very badly to see it in the summer too, but wouldn't be able to handle the crowds. The cross-country skiing rocked my face squabcore.

Yesterday I made chicken-coconut-lemongrass-chili soup. Well, I added too much rice so it's more like a porridge or stew, but it's still really good. I put in about a head and a half of garlic.
