Yesterday was a long day. After working Supunsa (Dan's assistant) and I went to the Grand Palace, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The Grand Palace houses the royal residence and throne halls. After I showered and got dressed I looked relatively cute but she made me change. Apparently you cant go into the temples w/o pants or in tank tops or flip-flops. I was...

When I was an exchange student, my best-received host gift was a coffee table book about San Francisco that I spent an evening trying to explain with an English-to-Japanese dictionary. Also popular were See's candy and clothing with English words on it.

I know I should be able to identify the little figures in gold in your 4th picture, but I can't at the moment. suffice to say, I am reminded of "The King and I".

Holy crap.... where have I been? All the sudden you are in a foreign country. Wow. Looks great.

I've been to the temple of the emerald buddha too. How cool... I love seeing people's pics of places I've been. It gets me all excited to go somewhere. But.... seems the only place I'll be flying to soon is PDX to San Jose.... how exotic... puke

Have fun.... I need to read your past journals. See why you decided to leave the country. hee, hee...

Ok so the trip is going great so far. Last night one of our clients, an expat, who lives in the apartment upstairs with his wife and their baby took me out with his friends from the US who also just got to Bangkok for the first time. We took the SkyTrain and the Peninsula Hotel boat across the river(?) to the hotel to pick...

Wow. Sounds like fun! I went to Japan once with someone who just couldn't stop complaining about the wonderful and amazing things she was doing, but I had a good time in spite of that. Its great to hear you're enjoying your time. I'm looking forward to more stories

And yes, lightbulbs. Razorblades too.

You know you're getting old when you have a bunch of options for New Years Eve but staying home sounds like the best one.

Have a happy and safe New Years! kiss

Hi sweetness, Im just glad to be alive (see journal for explanation of that comment). Wish I had made it to Lotus performance in Sonoma. Begonias e'd me that I might send the disc from Rakkasha with the rest of the pictures rather than upload/download process and I e'd back that I was thinking the exact same thing - I found the discs and I'll get it done this week sometime. I think Scarlet is really hot but I dont get the vibe she likes me very much. Anyways my heart totally belongs to a softballer and no lady wants to be No. 2 love. tee hee - Im being silly. Glad you are alive and well my dear. My Sister will be visting from Greece and then escorting me and my camera gear back to Athens in August. I am hoping we can catch one of your club performances - I'll bring the Poloroid if not the Nikon.

I cant stop playing this song because people can suck sometimes...none of us are immune blackeyed

Falling Down
Staind

What's happened to you?
It's obvious you've changed
Something deep inside you is probably to blame
Must be lonely up there with your head up in the clouds
Even though you got there what does your conscience tell you know?

It's never the same on the way...

Have you ever taught anything? If you have you know the feeling you get when your student finally gets it. biggrin

I co-teach a belly dance class in San Leandro on Monday nights and we split the class up between beginner and intermediate students, I usually teach the intermediate students but tonight I took the beginners.

I had two students who just haven't gotten it at...

I like teaching. My problem with it is that I give the learner too many ways to think about something. Like when one way isn't working, you have to try another approach. But when I'm putting forward the next approach, the other person is still trying on the first one so they get confused. I think I'm a decent teacher but I lack some patience.
