Yes, it's been forever since I last updated. A lot's gone on but I don't care to write much about it. I'm just not around here so much and I'm only even checking out maybe one out of five sets these days. It's often days between my visits. Anyway, here's my life:

I got a new job.

I...

Your name is Kennyg... and it's your birthday, so I'll forgive you for making me think of christmas tunes done in sax.

Happy birthday.

Next week, a band called The Dead Kenny Gs is playing in Oakland. I'd like to go just for the name, but I have plans.

Holy crap dude -- you update less than me wink

My brain was like "hmm... that's weird... I saw a lovemakers show at that place??"

smile

Anyway -- send me your e-mail if you leave.
stuckinthetrunk:
Thank you so much! I'm a little bit excited too. wink

Note to TSA: It doesn't help keep terrorists off airplanes if you only perform random secondary screening on one out of two people who are travelling together. Especially if you make it so obvious (the big SSSS on your boarding pass) that you are going to be searched.

Fuck!

Someone busted the lock and broke into my car because I had a bunch of junk from my move on my seats. They ended up stealing three pilsner glasses and a World War I trench periscope (which I was planning on getting rid of anyway, just needed to find someone who really wanted it.)

Last time someone busted the lock on my car, it...

Going back to Cali huh? What part of the University would you be working for?
sonofmorrissey:
Good for you man. There is *nothing* more frustrating than working hard only to watch others piss away the results. Part of my frustration with WF has been the inability for me to make my work equate to improvement in the company/group. That's why I quit the security gig. The stuff I'll be doing in Brokerage *may* bear fruit, but if not I think I'm on my way to independent consulting (doing security stuff via my friends' consultancy) or just getting into a whole new field/going back to school. Meh.

BTW, in the one chance I've had to talk with your bro, it was very obvious to me that he really knows his shit when it comes to Java. As a once-upon-a-time programmer I was blown away at how well he was able to take me through his projects with clarity and just enough details to make it more than a management-level dog and pony show.

Anyway, hopefully I'll see you around soon.

Big updates!

Back from vacation. It was great. Lavish wedding in NY. Relaxing time in British Columbia and good time roadtripping. I ate dungeness crab, rock crab, huckleberries, chanterelle mushrooms, clams, oysters, and pink salmon, and those were just the things we caught or picked! I also saw otters, bald eagles, and orcas. It was pretty amazing.

I came back from vacation to find that...

Not that I've been active here recently, but I'm going to be out of town for a couple of weeks. This weekend to a wedding in NY, then about ten days in British Columbia. The second leg might be cancelled if my girlfriend gets a new job which starts next week.

When are you moving? Couches still available? Are they heavy? Hmmm....maybe you're gone....

I like to think that my dad was a vampire cyborg. He had an implant, and he was dependent on blood transfusions to live.

It freaks me out when they test the emergency sirens near where I live. It's so long in between me noticing them that every time I have to go look it up and see that they test them the first Friday of every month at noon.

Now the terrorists know when to strike near my house!

I can't believe I'm taking the train down to LA to see Star Wars with RidleyGriffyn. Between tomorrow and Thursday, I will spend about 23 hours on trains and busses.

At least I already know that the movie is good, but it's mainly about seeing it with some friends who are really excited about it.
