Good for you man. There is *nothing* more frustrating than working hard only to watch others piss away the results. Part of my frustration with WF has been the inability for me to make my work equate to improvement in the company/group. That's why I quit the security gig. The stuff I'll be doing in Brokerage *may* bear fruit, but if not I think I'm on my way to independent consulting (doing security stuff via my friends' consultancy) or just getting into a whole new field/going back to school. Meh.
BTW, in the one chance I've had to talk with your bro, it was very obvious to me that he really knows his shit when it comes to Java. As a once-upon-a-time programmer I was blown away at how well he was able to take me through his projects with clarity and just enough details to make it more than a management-level dog and pony show.
Anyway, hopefully I'll see you around soon.

Back from vacation. It was great. Lavish wedding in NY. Relaxing time in British Columbia and good time roadtripping. I ate dungeness crab, rock crab, huckleberries, chanterelle mushrooms, clams, oysters, and pink salmon, and those were just the things we caught or picked! I also saw otters, bald eagles, and orcas. It was pretty amazing.
