So, is it just me or did any one else sign up to this site not expecting to see penises? I opened up the hook up page twice in the past 15 minutes and both times I am greeted with lovely new pictures of men and their large erect pricks.

....Not that I am totally against men and their large erect pricks, mind you....

I...

I'm still moody. Didn't do anything of use today. Tried to paint.... failed miserably... I hate brick walls.... I hate blocks..
Shove my head into the brick wall.... That's better.

I don't know why I grow weary with painting. It happens every few months, and then I am stuck for three weeks to a month with no clue, no inspiration, no work. Cool my heels,...

Yikes! I had no idea they added that feature to the hook-up page. I suppose I should be relieved I haven't had any locals drop by my page. That has happened to me in the past where someone actually e-mailed me quite obviously just to try and pick me up. It was prior to this change. I suppose it is the risk you take having a presence on-line. I agree with you about the stalking potential though. Why make that easier?

Ahhh! I'm still getting used to all of the new adjustments on this site. Good things, but changes confuse me.

I'm sad. Someone hired a tree crew to come out to the house and chop off my squirrel branch near my bedroom window. ....Pout.... Now the squirrels can't come up to my window and beg to be let in.... Sad now.

I finally finished reading...

I like you painting. It's from my blue set, no? I can't keep any of my old sets striaght.... I don't think you should be feeling bad about your painting abilities at all....... If you want to give me a print or copy, that would be fabulous.... I really like it. you should be stoked that you are talented....
titania:
Maybe if you put a bird feeder up to your window, the squirrels will perch on that to steal seeds.

I'm back from seeing Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. It was much better than I thought it would be, as good as I hoped it would be. IT's about this new type of cyborg called a gynoid that starts to malfunction and kill their owners, who use them as sex dolls. If anyone has seen the first GITS than they now about Kusanagi and...

Excited, yet cautious....

Going to see Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence in a little bit! Dubious.... Don't know if it's going to completely trump the first film (of which I am a huge fan) or completely let me down.

But, my man is taking me, so all is good. Anime in the big theatre is still very new for me. Not used to it...

I think the entire presidential election should be decided thunder dome style. It could be potentially better than what goes on now. The strong overpowering the weak could work out to the country's advantage.

Yes, yes, I watched the debate last night, just like every one else I encounter today. Chock full of hyperbole and empty rhetoric it was. I'm not too impressed with either...

I don't know that I have seen any of his other work. I like Inu Yasha though... it isn't always about fighting and there is never a ton of violence. More about friendship, which can be unusual in this sort of "cartoon".

I won't admit to being very familiar with the different styles of Japanese Animation, but I will say this one is definately well done.

Ok so next topic, whats up with the uh... hellmouth? or whatever on his friend's, the monk, hand? I can't even remember his name, but I think he is hilarious since he hits on every cute chick he sees lol.

I am excited to vote for my frist time ever! It's good that you are starting to care, but it doesn't make you old, just enlightened. And I would much rather watch Jem than that debate anyday.

Slowly gaining friends. Well, have one now. I'm so lame. Haven't actively pursued anyone, just been commenting on journals and posting boards. Any one interested in the arts, books, movies, and whatever else want to be my friend?

The Urban Institue for Contemporary Arts just sent me an email for a submission request. I guess I should send them another $20, wait six months, and...

It's raining here. Why is it that every time it rains the local classic rock station plays "Riders on the storm"? Isn't that a bit cliche?

Just went down to Old Town to visit the gallery district. I popped into my friend Spider's store to see how my prints, tee shirts, and buttons were doing. He didn't even have them up frown Well, it has been...

Comicking is under the impression that I care what he thinks about my Fine Art, and yes it IS fine art. It meets all of the criteria to be Fine Art. Whatever Pop Art has been to you is not Pop Art. What you are describing is either Impressionism, or maybe even expressionism, perhaps you should investigate to two art froms before defining my art as such. I only brought this point up again because it was adressed again in the comment above.

As to the "Attack" it was not what you said but how you said it. It was worded as a backhanded dig.

comicking said:

Ok, but you may not like my response.

I may be interested in seeing some Fine Art on SG. Know where I can see some? The Pop Art you present is good, but its not what I would call Fine Art.

This is akin to saying to someone "You are a pretty nice guy, for an asshole." and then when the recipient challenges takes issues with being called an asshole, the instigator says "Hey, you're being selective. I told you I though you were a pretty nice guy." If I wanted to be selective I would have focused on the fact that you said the art was good, and ignored the context of the statement.

In closing, the issue has become really nothing more than childish bickering. And this is my last comment on this matter in particular. As to my original board topic, that is another story.

comicking:
Alrighty. Apparently you've got me with the dictionary. I did look these words up after PixieTits' post about what is or is not fine art. I still contend that Fine Art is different than fine art, and not just that one is capitalized and the other isn't. I withdraw, retreat, re-group and answer give an answer to your last question in the thread. While DigDug seems to contradict the meaning by mentioning that what he draws for SG is not what he would call Fine Art, he brings up that its really just semantics. Demetrius_z states why he thinks its a bad idea and I answer with why its a good idea that won't work.

Furthermore, I'm sorry that my gender has embittered you to those do not know you. I personally know for a fact (I get in fights with most men because they refuse to believe the statistics) that women are better at almost everything than men. Men can excel at cooking and cleaning house if they apply themselves, but women make better doctors, nurses, lawyers, mechanics, bus drivers, construction workers, plumbers, artists, musicians, pilots, politicians, ceo's, scientists, you name it. Women are better at every male-dominated (and female-dominated) profession if they apply themselves with the exception of the two I mentioned above. Men just have a hard time "moving out of the way" and beat the slender gender down with glass ceilings and what-not.

"You wish to try the life of the artist; you wish to try a life of arduous, unceasing work, and- uncertain praise. Your praise would have to be earned, like your bread; and both would come slowly, scantily- what do I say?- they might hardly come at all."

-George Eliot-

In response to some of the nastier replies I recieved on my board "Should there...
