So my mom's brother Ed died yesterday. He had jaw cancer several years ago that appeared to be treated, but recently he was developing tumors in his lungs and brain. His time was up.

SG is great. If a particular section of SG isn't working for you, ignore it, or come up with a better way to discuss why you don't like it. I wasn't the only one that thought your comments were really condescending. The news stories on the boards are clearly marked with NEWS so just skip those stories if you aren't happy with them.
We are still figuring out how we want to do everything in the news wire, it's a new feature, and we are new editors. I won't repeat the part about the lacking submissions again, but I will say again that I didn't think there was any problem with posting that story.

I'm supposed to be traveling to Thailand next week, but I'm worried that I won't get to go. My new passport was mailed to me on December 30th, and it never arrived. I have to see if I can get a passport in four days!
