Here's a gaggle of shelfies...

This is probably one of the more extensive Reagan collections outside of the presidential library. And it's not even complete, some of it spills over into adjacent shelves.

Anne Tyler and Thomas Berger share a crowded "favorites" shelf...

And these two shelves bear witness to some obsessions of mine... from Disney to Architecture, from Rodgers & Hammerstein to big butts

The embarrassing ones are hidden?! Hmmmm...
kaicito:
You mean I might think about keeping The Big Butt Book hidden as well? Actually I was kidding...while I have some books stacked behind the front row, these are not necessarily more embarrassing, just less loved.

If I accomplish nothing else this unproductive Monday, I'll at least get something (anything!) posted on here if it's the last thing I do. Here, as if anyone cares, is our living room - looking completely different from, say, Friday last week, because we finally (after a record 19 weeks of waiting) did get our dining nook table and chairs (background), plus we moved exchanged...

Welcome...welcome to a return engagement of SISLTSOFP. The amazingly stunning @JANETTE has a set ("Vintage Bloom") that went into MR during May, but it's an older one of hers, "Behind the Curtain" that I think is absolutely stunning and would not look out of place as Set of the Day:

Has anyone seen the new Maleficent movie with Angelina Jolie yet? As a Disney fan, I suppose I can't miss it... but no matter how good Jolie is, she couldn't possibly be as good as the original, as designed and drawn by the great Marc Davis:

iggy:
I loved the original Sleeping Beauty.
kaicito:
@Iggy It's my fave animated classic...I think everybody at Disney was at the top of their game for that one!

"You're allowed to wear a bikini whether or not you lost those last five pounds, just had a baby, are naturally skinny, skipped your morning workout or had cake for breakfast." I'm cool with that...I'm also cool with y'all wearing no bikini at all ;-)

There's always toilet paper and socks...Trust me, I know. ;)

I love this. I think it's a sad statement about society that "you're allowed to wear a bikini no matter what your size" needs to even be said. It's really hard not to fall into the body-shaming / body-guilt trap.

Apparently, there are 3 of these Haruki Murakami vending machines in Poland, how cool is that?

adelina:
Very cool. So jealous. <3

Excuse my ranting, but for some reason a thing or two that occasionally mar my SG enjoyment are on my mind tonight... 1) You know, I do try to make some fun, interesting, and yes, sometimes irreverent comments, because it bores me to always go like "you're so gorgeous" "you're so sexy" etc. etc. But, except for a very few times, I hardly ever get any...

(1) I do appreciate your irreverent and insightful and thoughtful comments. [Sorry, if I haven't shown it appropriately enough!] I agree that "you're so gorgeous" all the fucking time is boring. Sometimes, even if one isn't meaning to be injurious, such envelope-pushing comments are the ones that actually have real substance and juiciness to it. And are infinitely more interesting and thought-provoking too. (2) There are non-liberals here, somewhere. (3) I don't see you as old or young or in-the-middle, or any age-label. I just see you as Kai. (4) Thanks for the pic compliment. I've been really liking all 4+ new ones of yours in the last week and a half! X
radical:
I don 't think you're old at all. I always say; you're as old as you feel :) And i like the comments you write, you're one of the few people who make me feel like someone actually reads my blogs. So thank you! :D

My hometown (actually spelled with an umlaut-u) doesn't get much international play, even if it is one of the major cities of Germany. Somehow tourists, if they stumble into the Rhineland at all, mostly go to Cologne, a few miles upstream. But Duesseldorf is a lovely city on a bend in the Rhine river, with lots going for it...a lot of fresh, modern architecture, a...

Well, I felt shitty and miserable with my cold all day, but at least the day ends on a high note - Congratulations to @NAIF on being insta-pink! I knew it from the moment I saw her beautiful set, and congrats also to @GOSSIP who did a great job with the photography.

Or do you have the magic touch, Kai? The girls you love magically turn pink?! ;-)
kaicito:
@adelina Now that you mention it... maybe I do ^__^

Gah, no idea how you go from feeling fine to feeling miserable overnight, but that's what I've done... got up at 4 a.m. with a buzzing head and massive sniffles, so here I am, staying in this Monday. A wee bit embarrassing, as this would have been my 1st day of work after a 2-week vaca break, but what can you do? Ah.......choo!
