For my wife's b'day (coming up in a good week) I'm giving her a couple of smaller events. Oh... have you ever read anything by Jane Gardam? Came across her in a recent New Yorker piecelet, and ordered her novel "Old Filth" immediately (the book tells the story of a British banker and "raj orphan" (look it up), and FILTH stands for "Failed In London, Try Hongkong").

Amazon (Germany, but I guess all others too) offers a Complete (?) Edition for Kindle with 144 texts for just 1 €. Got it immediately, although a real copy would be nicer of course :)
