It's still two weeks away, but we're getting excited about our trip to Lyon, France, where we're staying about 10 days...plenty of time for leisurely sightseeing, with a few side trips in the surrounding countryside, as well as a day trip to the city of Avignon. We'll be staying at an airbnb-Apartment, which is always nice.

@adelina Same here! Somehow I always seem to miss your new posts, I need to actively stalk you to get the latest. The time on the train flew by...I enjoy train rides, and find them relaxing and restful. I did some reading (just a nonfiction thing on personality) and also resorted to my old standby for long trips, the Wall Street Journal weekend crossword, of which I have a bunch printed out. The plane trip was easy...once I got over my fear of takeoff, it was almost time for my fear of landing ;-) Hope you're having a great day - we have a long weekend, with today's May Day a national holiday. Andrea and I are trying to fast these three days (only unsweetened tea or juice) so we'll see how that goes!

Hehe. Love the cartoon. I agree with "the other likely candidates are too horrible to even contemplate." Rand Paul is certainly the lesser evil of them all. And I want to know why the campaign-season is so extensive now. Everything is so long and drawn out these days. Same with the holidays, for instance. I see halloween stuff come out in JULY!! And then christmas stuff is out by August!
