@madviking On balance, I probably prefer the current photosets, but the early ones do have a raw authenticity to them that is very powerful. I can't speak to how the older iterations of the site 'felt' because I only joined in 2014, although I'm aware of some of the criticisms levelled at the latest version, of course.

Even when I joined there was some feeling that the site had moved away from what it had been. The sets when I joined were more often being done by different professional photographers and though the overall quality and I feel the range of hopefuls expanded some people seemed to think that SG was moving more mainstream.
