I would hug nachos if the cheese didn't sear me.

And Ghost World gets me because I can relate to almost all the characters in some way.

I love fresh flowers, that is a good idea. They really do brighten up a home. My hometown is the rose capital of the world, so no roses for me. I tend to like the arrangements that look a bit "wild" and original. Oh, and tulips too. I tried to grow some one year and failed miserably at it!!!

I am pretty sure it is. I found it at Working Bike Collective, it was just sitting there being ignored like a Charlie Brown Christmas tree so I bought it up. I have been riding it the last couple of days.

I love the Morningstar Farms riblets.
Also, riblets is a great word.

I was so afraid you were going to put up a new post before my family left because I love grilled cheese too!!!
I love then so much I won't even buy bread or sliced cheese.

Ugh. Diets.

Like, when I'm feeling dumpy I'm all, "I'm going to snack on carrots and not order desserts" but when I'm drunk and sassy I'm all, "I'm fucking awesome the way I am. Fuck it all!" and go to Coldstone for ice cream.

now I'm way hungry

Like I said, if anywhere has it Odd Obsession will.

Nothing makes me more insane then people giving shit because I refuse to believe that I require 'another half' as per societies conventions.

We, the habitually single of Amerika, need to rise up and smash the oppressive 'couples culture' that is trying to keep us down.
melladoree:
Oh I totally know what you mean! And I know for a fact that Thairin has iemployees post on all the myspace pages and post all that shit. When I get a James bulletin I usually get 5 others from all the wow sites. James has emailed me before but that was a very long time ago so I wonder if he has anything to do with it anymore.

Thairin's posting are more annoying because they are from him and all his bulletins are this:

hieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

The worst part is I can HEAR him saying it! I cannot believe I worked with him for so long.

now you have gone and made me all nostalgic... the old traveling shows were some of the first shows I attended when I was younger, and they had a huge impact on me. I discovered some of my favorite groups through those shows (and many of those were indeed on the second stage). guided by voices, stereolab, the boredoms... I grew up in the middle of nowhere, and as such, I had never heard of any of them until I saw them play at lollapalooza. I also recall quite a few memorable events occurring at those shows. I got to meet mike watt (and let me tell you, that man has a strong fucking handshake), I was forced to help a crowd hold up a drunk and naked david yow, and nick cave caused a bit of a scene at the show I attended...

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

the show was in one of those big outdoor amphitheaters, and they had guards posted at the various seating levels to make sure no one could get closer to the stage without the appropriate tickets. cave was playing pretty early in the day when a lot of the seats close to the stage were unoccupied. in between songs, he looked up towards the back at people watching from the hill behind the seating, and he asked, "why are you all sitting way up there? will they not let you up here because you do not have enough money? you all should really just come on up here". some people laughed, and they played the next song. after that, he said, "seriously, I want all you people to just come on up here. COME ON, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?", at which point 50-100 people started rushing towards the stage, jumping railings and running over seats. the stadium staff had no clue what was going on, and most of them managed to make it up front and mingle with the crowd in the pit so that they could not be yanked out. cave said, "now, isn't that better?" and proceeded with his set.

I am not too big a fan of the whole festival thing anymore. the last one I went to was all tomorrow's parties in LA back in 2002, maybe. also, I find that while the fests running these days go for overkill on the lineup, it is rarely the case that I find a band listed I have not yet heard of. seriously, if you are going to be running a show with 40 bands and 3 or 4 stages, you think you could invest some effort in finding some good new bands and try to introduce them to folks who have not heard of them. oh well...

I hope you had a good weekend.
