Its not a bad idea to get as much experience as possible but don't work for free for sketchy people.

NEVER shoot for free unless it's absolutely stated in the contract that you retain all rights and usage of the images. it's usually a warning sign when they want you to shoot for free, but there are those for whom it's merely an addition to their portfolio as they gain photog cred.
as already mentioned, you should get final decision on the shots that are kept to keep the ones you dislike out of publication - and be witness to them being tossed (or keep them yourself to gaurantee it).

If I had found that spider in my car, I would have set fire to it. Then shaved off all my hair which would have turned white from the shock.

I see 2 problems with the Darth Vader helmet. It covers your face (which is too nice to hide) and looks like you can't drink through it.

The reggae festival last night was insanely awesome... great vibes, lots of community love... i drank like two dozen beers and felt like shit all day.... drinking ten hours.. thats a double shift in some worlds.
