This coming week, M-Th, I'll be in Orlando, Florida for a trade show. Since Orlando is about 1500 miles south of where I live, it should be a nice warm little break. Sure, I'll spend the bulk of each day in a convention center, but it will still be a nice change of pace.

I was in Orlando once before about 15 or...

Between 4 and 7 o'clock this morning, I had the "pleasure" of waking up with intense leg cramps. While lying in bed rigid and gasping as the last one was finally dying down, I got to hear the sounds of the dog making multiple barfs out on the hall carpet.

Hmmmmm, maybe I can further celebrate the day by falling down the stairs or...

Thank you @sofia_k  I work in retail.  After being off the weekend, I had spent Monday evening up and down a step ladder restocking and rearranging my Christmas light aisle and had not paid attention to drinking enough water.  I quite did it to myself.  Fortunately, I was off Tuesday.  Today (8-6) will be spent prepping for Black Friday.  I'll do a better job of keeping water handy today.  Since yesterday, I have also had quite a bit of tonic water which seems to help.

Oh no? What a rough night, when I have intense day on my feet, I stack pillows under my feet to help with circulation.  I hope you’re able to get some rest soon.

Fireworks AND a rapidly closing thunderstorm. I can say with confidence that Ralphie did NOT enjoy this evening's quick bedtime walk at all.

Yes! That is exactly what you should do. Too many people baby them and it makes them worse. All well intentioned but they react differently than humans. And as much as I enjoy the pretty fireworks, blowing off M-80s and mortars is a bit excessive. It's like a war zone and gets old really quick. Such a curmudgeon I have become 😅

Max hates it too. Lately the farmers have been sighting as well so rifles have all his 200lbs running to hide in his house.

Take a look at Helen Ahspornsiri's incredible work. Given the amount of detail involved, it takes a little exploration before a person can appreciate the scale she is working in for the originals.

I have today off and it looks like it should be a very pleasant day. At 9 a.m. it is nicely warm (for January) at 26 degrees. There is no wind and a nice snow is gently falling straight down. Agenda for the day . . .

Back to bed for a couple hours - YAY!

Shovel snow = Exercise

Walk dog

Shower

Into work for a couple hours...

I cannot agree more. And I do hope living got at least a tiny bit easier.

What are the geekiest things about me?

I get interested in some hobby or activity and research/study it to death before I actually try it.

Stained glass - NEAT! A dozen or 2 books, lord knows how many hours of web time and magazines later and months after buying the stuff, I actually make my first piece.

Getting a dog - YES! Books, dog shows, on-line...

I'd love to see some of your projects :)

@trills I have very little to show.  Of the stained glass, I have given almost all of it as gifts.  The woodworking has been very practical things, bookcases, picture frames, dog houses, a fence (which does include lit panes of stained glass), a couple of decks, large wheeled work cabinets for the garage.  I am very pleased with my yet to be finished garden shed made of salvaged doors.  The rhymes and songs are just silly things that are spur of the moment and forgotten almost as soon as I say them.  I reworked the lyrics of the Song "Kung Fu Fighting" into "Cracker Surfing", a song about mice and gerbils surfing crackers down a banister.  That came together quite well.  It is one of the very few silly bits that I actually bothered to write down.

A friend of mine just sent me a text saying her partner and her were just out hanging Christmas lights and that her hands were freezing. While I was typing my reply saying it sounded like a hot cup of cocoa sounded in order, the spellchecker helpfully suggested "cocaine". Now I have no doubt that a "nice hot cup of cocaine" would indeed make you...

Now I have no choice but Google Klingon porn. I expect to faint from laughing too hard.

I think that the hunt is the best part of it; looking through all the items that may or may not be worth something and then doing you research to see if you got lucky. The excitement upon finding out you purchased something valuable, a little piece of history, is amazing.

What says "fun" better on a Monday than a 7 a.m. training meeting on budgeting? Well . . . . . . Actually, just about anything says "fun" better than that.

You're welcome!What's 7am? Geeze ;)

A mere hour ago, I posted a blog in which I spoke pretty happily about myself and 2 other residents of my home. Given the information in that blog, you should only need one try to correctly answer the following questions . . .

1. Who just finished shampooing up a multi-pile barf fest of what appears to be recently consumed rotten crab apples?

2. Who is sitting...

Just got done giving "Perfect Dog" and Muscle Head" their baths (not their real names but since everybody else uses an alias on here, they might as well too). First we went for a good long 45 minute walk. When we got in the house, the leashes stayed until we were in the downstairs bathroom and the door was shut - no escape! Then, the leashes...

Every morning, I wake up with "Mad Clown Hair". I used to say that I never have bad hair days because the "bad" part was irrelevant. If I could look in the mirror and see hair . . . "Oooo, it's a HAIR day!" ;)

But, this "Mad Clown" morning hair is making me reconsider that viewpoint.

trills:
Thanks! :)

I found avoiding the mirror in general in the mornings helps me look fabulous! Haha!
