so my mom decided to cook corned beef and cabbage in honor of St. Patrick's Day....I'm still explaining to her that one reason why the Irish drink so much is to tolerate their cooking. she doesn't understand yet....

I asked my mom about corned beef and cabbage once and she told me there was nothing Irish about it and that she never had it till she moved to Canada. She pointed out that beef was way too expensive when she was young so they never had it, lamb was much cheaper. She said corned beef and cabbage was an american thing kinda like chicken balls aren't really chinese food.

so my car is making a loud noise while driving, kind of a growl that gets louder as I go faster....back in November/December, the shop that rebuilt my transmission told me that it sounds like my front wheel bearings are going bad.

think Bill Mahar had it right when he said that budget shows where the politician's true intentions lie....
so guessing NYS politicians are concerned about the extremely wealthy or poor, and not about anyone else. and only paying lip service to the idea of education (let's cut education spending AND cap local taxes so districts have no way to recoup the reduced funding).

almost done with this damn cold that started about a week ago....I'm coughing less, less phlegm, less mucus pouring out my nose....the good signs. still a little sore and not sleeping more than 5 or 6 hours at a time, but it sure beats the 3 1/2 hours only I got Tuesday before having to work an overnight shift.
