my odd work conversation (content paraphrased due to not perfectly memorizing it, but meaning is pretty much the same):

family comes in, buys some stuff. what I assume is the older brother and father, to fairly cute younger (teenage) sister.

Brother: "You're too skinny. I tell you that. look at her, do you think she's too skinny? (to her) turn around and show him your...

now, I know I'm not a horticultural expert and can't tell exactly what a produce item is at 100 feet, but I ran into a situation yesterday that I ask you, those who read my blog, to please comment on...

I'm on register, a lady comes through. she has a yellow squash. I type in the code and it rings up as "Yellow Zucchini". she...

To me, the term seems to be just a regional thing. I found THIS which included the following description:

"Summer squash come in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes. Types of summer squash include scallop or pattypan, cocozelle, zucchini and yellow squash, both crookneck and straightneck. The different types of summer squash tend to have similar tastes and are often interchangeable in recipes."

Which means, I agree with MDF.

I agree with both of you...but for the sake of customer service I did not point out her stupidity.

what does it say about me that I am really excited to win on eBay a Maelstrom heroclix to be the center piece of my 1000 point build team for the Thanos grand prize in the Heroclix Infinity Gauntlet event?

and in other news....making meals without the use of an oven (but thankfully 4 burners) really bites.
nene:
I have a two burner cook top, a toaster oven and a microwave. It's not so bad.

time to institute one of the evil penguin's rules of life....the conversation goes like this:

Knock Knock....

"The oven isn't heating up."

"Yup, I discovered it. and no, won't look at it."

the rule used.....

"Never mess around an appliance that can easily kill you, such as an electric oven with a 240 V line going into it."

oh yeah, and working maintenance, the job I was scheduled for.

fun times!

and quote of the day...

Me: "Hey mom, you hear that Kristen Stewart had an affair with the director from...

okay....this spider can live.

and quote of the night.....

"Santa Claus has just arrived in the back...and he's riding a motorcycle."

done with the five day straight of overnight shifts. now I get to try and get a "normal" sleep schedule only to mess it all up starting Sunday (when I start the overnights again).

the full-time person might bitch because I did a candy order. he normally orders very lightly....to the point of having empty shelves on multiple registers (the candy we stock is what...

what does it say about me that my Friday night was spent in a church learning to play Heroclix? and that my Saturday night will be spent adding music to my mp3 player, cleaning out duplicate files on my computer, and seeing how my newest Heroclix acquisition (Lord Mar-Vell) can be used?

just saying....

I just picked up #4 this week, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet.

I can see how Dial H could be a dead property. I'm sure I'm not the only one that doesn't like the way the pages flow. It's hard to read. The story line is very interesting though.
