Sometimes news just hits you like a ton of bricks.

For those of you who have been keeping track, the midterm elections put the final nail in the coffin of my hopes of re-starting my career in North Carolina. How does that work, exactly? Well, with the Republican majority now set to take office in January of 2015, the referendum to extend the state's tax...

Was in my first car accident AND had my credit card hacked today. I'm pretty sure if I just go to bed now, nothing else can happen...

Time to get the Led out on my headphones and get some fresh air in my pajamas. I've got to get myself to DC tomorrow in one piece.

Yet another interview ended with a vague "thanks for your time, but we're pursuing other candidates" email.

A friend of mine recommended that I try to be of the mind that perhaps I was just too qualified to be doing drone work. It can be hard,...

So I haven't had much to say lately. This morning, though, I had a little bit of an emotional reckoning when I woke up to an email from none other than the great Joe Hawley of Tally Hall (now working under the pseudonym ミラクルミュージカル) - holler if you're a fan!

It's been just about 4 years since I lost my brother to leukemia, and a...

I've known for some time that my grandfather was a talented musician. It wasn't until the past 2 years or so that I've begun to discover just how awesome he actually was.

After having found a CD in his house of some old recordings of 78s by a band whose name translated roughly into what I had seen emblazoned on his music stand in old...
