The Jesus & Mary Chain
JUST LIKE HONEY

Listen to the girl
As she takes on half the world
Moving up and so alive
In her honey dripping beehive
Beehive
It's good, so good, it's so good
So good

Walking back to you
Is the hardest thing that
I can do
That I can do for you
For you

I'll be your plastic toy
I'll...

"The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

My favorite quote of all time.

1. Why do good girls like bad boys?
2. Is it really better to be feared than loved?
3. Truth or Dare?

sen:
1. Because us good boys aren't too fun usually.
2. Depends on the situation. A loved supervisor, president, or whatever can't be too strict or their underlings think they are kidding or won't react propperly, but if you are feared no one wants to keep you around.
3. Never fancied truth or dare. I covet my secrets too much, and am none too outgoing.
nocontrol:
oh man, so many good quotes, so little time...remind me to get back to you on this one.

how the hell are ya? yes, i am back, thank you very much wink

the memory of last night still a haze in the sunlight..
and when you awake
I will put my hand around your back, waist
to let it rest between the small of your back and you will say to me
dont stop..go further
take it down...

But, if you are in the P-town, go ahead, I'm not doing delivering anything at the moment (obviously). It'll give me something to do.

For some particular reason I am feeling incredibly patriotic and incredibly sad. Perhaps it is becuase I was watching the DNC earlier and I was thinking about how lucky I am to be an American. How lucky I feel to have the luxury to not have someone I love in harm's way in the war. And, for a day, I can put away the self...

karalynn:
Your entry made me think of this old folk song that was released during Nam and really resonated with me with this current Iraqi conflict:

See if you can Hear it some time. I like the Seeger version better.

WAIST DEEP IN THE BIG MUDDY

It was back in nineteen forty-two,
I was a member of a good platoon.
We were on maneuvers in-a Loozianna,
One night by the light of the moon.
The captain told us to ford a river,
That's how it all begun.
We were -- knee deep in the Big Muddy,
But the big fool said to push on.

The Sergeant said, "Sir, are you sure,
This is the best way back to the base?"
"Sergeant, go on! I forded this river
'Bout a mile above this place.
It'll be a little soggy but just keep slogging.
We'll soon be on dry ground."
We were -- waist deep in the Big Muddy
And the big fool said to push on.

The Sergeant said, "Sir, with all this equipment
No man will be able to swim."
"Sergeant, don't be a Nervous Nellie,"
The Captain said to him.
"All we need is a little determination;
Men, follow me, I'll lead on."
We were -- neck deep in the Big Muddy
And the big fool said to push on.

All at once, the moon clouded over,
We heard a gurgling cry.
A few seconds later, the captain's helmet
Was all that floated by.
The Sergeant said, "Turn around men!
I'm in charge from now on."
And we just made it out of the Big Muddy
With the captain dead and gone.

We stripped and dived and found his body
Stuck in the old quicksand.
I guess he didn't know that the water was deeper
Than the place he'd once before been.
Another stream had joined the Big Muddy
'Bout a half mile from where we'd gone.
We were lucky to escape from the Big Muddy
When the big fool said to push on.

Well, I'm not going to point any moral;
I'll leave that for yourself
Maybe you're still walking, you're still talking
You'd like to keep your health.
But every time I read the papers
That old feeling comes on;
We're -- waist deep in the Big Muddy
And the big fool says to push on.

Waist deep in the Big Muddy
And the big fool says to push on.
Waist deep in the Big Muddy
And the big fool says to push on.
Waist deep! Neck deep! Soon even a
Tall man'll be over his head, we're
Waist deep in the Big Muddy!
And the big fool says to push on!

Words and music by Pete Seeger (1967)

PEACE

Concord Hymn
by Ralph Waldo Emerson

Sung at the Completion of the Concord Monument, April 19th, 1836

By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April's breeze unfurled,
Here once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard round the world.

The foe long since in silence slept;
Alike the conqueror silent sleeps;
And Time the ruined bridge has swept...
