We're studying ADHD and alternative methods in my psychology class right now. Our focus is on children, but some adults use the same techniques. The disorder manifests in children, not adults, as you probably know, but it's more apparent in children since they're still learning how to behave. I've never seen an adult climb all over the furniture in a restaurant.

I'm much the way you described. I always have music on in the background when I'm doing housework, homework, or other tasks. It's hard for me to drive if I'm not singing or dancing with music, and I get bored of it quickly. I've never been checked for anything, because I've learned so many coping mechanisms and don't really believe I have ADHD, but it makes school VERY hard. If the teacher can't keep my attention, I find my mind wandering after only twenty minutes.

It really sucks because I'm smart and could get a 4.0, but I get so bored that I stop paying attention and don't want to do my homework. It's been a real struggle. I flunked out of NMU and took a few years off to get my shit together, so I feel your pain regarding school. I figured I'd be pursuing doctorate by the time I turned 28, not pursuing my BA.

It can't hurt. If you don't want to turn into a "zombie", just tell your doctor. They have all sorts of stuff out now, and they can always give you a very low dosage. Any doctor worth his/her merit will work with your needs.

(Edited to add: I'm sure your girl already told you this. I just like reiterating things).

I wish I were more familiar with ADHD. My concentration is in PTSD and other forms of depression. Talk about the other end of the scale...

Trackbar... the heim was going on it- again.. and then with our first bad snowfall three weeks ago I smashed into a snowbank fuckingup my steering really bad... so I took it in. Being that most the stuff on m Jeep isn't stock anymore they are having trouble getting parts. The thing that sucks is that it's the SAME DAMN PART that I fixed myself this summer, but being that I don't have a garage or airtools to use anymore, I couldn't do it... plus it's just TOO damn cold out there! And the alignment is REALLY off!

Yeah... pre snowbank my steering wheel was about 1/4 off... post snowbank it was pretty much upside down. Eek! Thats okay though- I get my baby back tomorrow- if not Thursday, and thats all that matters!
