I'm actually thinking of trying to be a SG, but like you I'm a bit camera shy. But I'd be okay I think if I had the right photographer (a good friend of mine has offered - well three have offered but two of them are guys looking for an excuse to get me naked). I think my problem is that I know I'm not very photogenic. The pic in my profile does me no justice, I'm actually much cuter than that - but for some reason I always come off looking weird in pictures.
Anyway, I'm done ranting. For now anyway.
