Stayed with some long time friends of mine who own a shop there called mono... go see!

I went to the Tattoo Convention and met some lovely SG people, including Bonnie, Tsui, Candee... also Cherry and AnnaLee made a fly by on day one. Both busy bees.

Thanks for the great pictures fella. Sorry I haven't been around for a bit. Took some time off to go on a well deserved break. It was all getting a bit much.

I'm a bit annoyed on the tattoo front actually. i had a design done and really wanted it done by this guy in Brighton who did it with a handheld needle rather than a gun, but he ended moving off and I missed my chance. i've got one tattoo done with a gun but I really want a more traditional one. I really like the idea of it being done by hand and pushing the ink under the skin; it's a far more beautiful aesthetic to me.

So, yeah, I was just interested in the pics so thanks for that.

I'll put up the fontenelle and whatnot for you too.

take care man

ps your new profile pics are very becoming wink

Well, it would seem London has had it's mini 2 day freak heat wave, and now we are back to high winds, heavy rain, and dark skies of near biblical proportions. Today's weather should of had an epic film soundtrack from something like Jason and the Argonauts!

I've been sleeping a heck of a lot lately and been feeling real tired. Pretty much missed Friday...

i got my last clean dirty shirt out of the wardrobe!
and all the good people know...

i most definitely have Hex Enduction Hour... it is a true classic. (ever noticed how much the early Pavement records even ape the cover art?) i wouldn't say that i am terribly knowledgeable about The Fall, but i do own about 8 or 10 albums (funny how that still feels like a drop in the bucket for them). i was just saying in Richardson's journal that i especially like the times they get some beats behind MES, so this von sudenfed is just fucking kicking my ass. i love it. you'll have to hip me to any Fall that might lean that way, perhaps.

i agree that the video becomes rather sexy at points, when i wouldn't have expected it to. as far as i can tell, it's MES basically chanting on about being willing to walk up multiple flights of stairs to "get it" at any point. but who really knows what is in that man's head? wink

looking forward to reading about your weekend - i'm glad it was a good one, man. smile

A classic compilation.

Well.. I've just come back from seeing Grinderman (Nick Cave et al) playing live in-store at HMV London Oxford Circus for free!

Fucking astounding performance!!!

The sound was excellent, and Nick Cave was on top form. This is some of the strongest material Nick Cave and pals have done in years. The album is amazing, and I love the attention to detail. Even though the...

Hey dinos,

Sorry I didn't get back earlier. I guess I'm hoist by my own petard. I put out huge great big journals. People take one look and go: hmm, I'll come back later. hahaha. And then they write me a huge comment and I go: wow...I'll respond to that later. biggrin blush biggrin blush

Thanks muchas for the bulgarian choir. The whole of the track sampled by the GM is absolutely amazing. I've now been dishing that out in ample amounts to all my friends. It's really stunning. As for Sophia, I've got the first two albums, so I'll wang some samples over to you in the next few days.

As for Baraka, yeah it's amazing. The problem is now I've seen it many times and, unlike a lot of these films which simply lose their impact, I feel that this film has a cumulative weight. the clip i left with AL I find almost unbearably sad now. But it's so beautiful with the Dead Can Dance I thought she'd like it. I saw koyonnisquaatsi (sp!??!) first and that's amazing too. But I find Glass' music for that quite dated. Instead I watched the film to GSBE's F#A# infinity. I don't know if you've seen the film but if you'll have you'll appreciate this. As one of the most amazing synchronicities, I started the album I think about the start of the movie and it finished perfectly with the film. But not only that, but the final 5 mins of Koy, is the slo-mo of challenger exploding and debris falling to earth, at which point the music moved into the final seague of the last track, with the sample of that guy singing "where are we going?" over and over. It evoked one of the deepest, most meditative moments on human existence I've ever had! And I've had a few wink

So, yeah, hope you're well. I've just managed to bust my ankle for the second time this year. I bought a frisbee this afternoon to enjoy some "dog phenomenology" as one of my colleagues referred to it (! I thought that was pretty funny), and promptly bust my ankle. mad

So that's my leg laid up for the summer having just healed from last term where I bust it doing MMA.

I am a fucking liability biggrin

take it easy hombre bok

No I've never seen Moldy Peaches live but I can imagine what an experiance that must have been! I remember they played in Sweden sometime back then when I used to listen to them non-stop but I missed it for some reason. Probably I was too busy being stupid and stoned out in the suburbs. (In Sweden, contrary to the US, suburbia is where the "slummy" areas are as opposed to the city's core).

Just heard that the band Electrocute are going to play in Stockholm in a couple weeks, so I think Im going to try to get to that show. Its been way too long since I went to a live gig. Its just been more dance/clubbing lately and I miss seeing people going wild on a stage.

It's been an embarrassingly long time between updates blush ...but I'm always waiting to do a proper big and interesting one. But since I have been procrastinating like crazy of late, I've decided to just do some regular small random journals anyway to stop these gaps. Sorry if they're a bit boring. blackeyed

I've been suffering from really bad wisdom tooth ache for a few days now,...

Nick Cave's new band Self described as;

Foul-mouthed, noisy, hairy, and damn well old enough to know better, Grinderman are Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey and Jim Sclavunos.

GRINDERMAN discuss the track No Pussy Blues from their self-titled debut album:

"As our dreams and desires are hung on the butcher's hook of rampant consumerism, and the mirage and the illusion and the Nike trainers...

Oh, forgot to say about the myspace thing. You can't convert an existing myspace, you've got to go to the music set up option and set up a new page. It's basically because there are copyright issues attached to the music you put up so that myspace are protected. I had the same problem so I have a personal myspace and a music one. pain in the ass but...

Yeah, Im also probably jinxing spring by announcing its arrival like that.. blackeyed I've heard that its going to get cold again next week - so I might aswell take advantage of this weeks warmth and sunshine as long as it lasts!

I am slowly starting to get a new set idea for myself together.. To be honest Im starting to feel quite a lot of pressure - especially on the "creativity" front. Maybe Im just thinking a little TOO much about it and should just get my act together and shoot. wink

I relate to these guys, and their every word makes complete sense in my mind shocked ... and maybe that's why sometimes people don't understand me confused Yeah, I maybe a little "weird", but that's me folks! tongue

Anyway, enjoy smile

answer me this - given the choice, would you rather have a real Star Trek style transporter or a Star Trek Next Generation style Holo-Deck? i think there's pros on cons to be made for both sides... wink

It's 4:30am, AND I FEEL SO EMOTIONALLY SICK RIGHT NOW.

I actually had a nice night out with a friend tonight and after some problems getting home, I got in at 2am.

But once I got in, my mood has sunk lower than I have felt in a long time.

Like in the "WHAT MAKES ME SAD" part of my profile, the thing that upsets...

Those pictures are lovely. It makes me wish I had more lenses for my own camera.

I agree with your comment. I just have to keep going because ending your life is never the answer, although it's kinda hard not to think about it when things get bad for me.

I'll be in London soon, it would be lovely to go for a tea biggrin
