I picked up 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' thinking it would help my social life. I'm only halfway through, and I've already managed to accidentally offend my mailman. At this rate, I'll be completely isolated by chapter 10. Anyone else have self-help books completely backfire on them?

@DONCELLA It ended pretty awkwardly, so I think my next project is Chapter 3: How to Win Back Your Mailman with Home-Baked Cookies. Wish me luck, because right now he drops the mail and runs!
