Well well well, it looks as if I might have a job soon with Cleveland Tenants Organization, through Americorps VISTA program. My state representative put me onto the job, having been its director before becoming a state rep. If I get the job, I get to go to Chicago for three days for training. The only time I've been to The Windy City was in...

Today I got a packet in the mail from the county about the job I applied for, the title of which is "Senior Records Management Officer." It contained three questions the personnel administrator wants answered of applicants, and those answers must be received no later than 4:30 PM October 2. I answered those questions as best I could, and tomorrow I will print them and...

IT FUCKING HAPPENED AGAIN!

Windows somehow got corrupted on my computer--AGAIN!

Fortunately, I had the CD with which to re-install Windows, and I was able to repair it so I didn't lose anything on my main hard drive. I was, in fact, able to repair Windows and keep everything I had. I am making an updated backup file as I type, it'll be a while...

Long story short, my computer's version of Windows XP got corrupted for the second time this Summer. This happened on Sunday, after I'd spent the morning doing some stuff. I tried to re-install on my old computer, but all attempts to do so have failed. It looked like I was screwed, but my state representative gave me one of his family's old computers that they...

So Steve Irwin, the "Crocodile Hunter" and zoologist from Australia, is dead; killed by a stingray, which stabbed him in the heart.

A lot of people are sad, and it is sad because he appeared to be a really good guy who brought knowledge of animals to other people in the fight to preserve our planet's wonderful species. And there are a lot of people...

Labor Day is supposed to be a day off from work. Instead, I got roped into doing yardwork that has left my back and knees worn out for the rest of the day. Had to pull a bunch of weeds, well, they weren't really weeds just really overgrown plants that had taken over. Some of these things were taller than I am. And I put...

Just found out today the job I applied for with the county has something like one thousand applications to go through, and it'll be a MINIMUM of three weeks before I hear anything, if ever. I'm going to ask my councilwoman and my state representative to work with the mayor's office on recommending me for the position, hopefully with their help I'll at least get...

I went to see the Cleveland Indians declaw the Detroit Tigers last night. Naturally the asshole Tigers fans had to start the game off talking shit, and guess where my seat was located? If you guessed one row in front of the asshole Tigers fans, you guessed right. It didn't help that the Indians started off weak. They let Detroit score two runs in the...

My neck and shoulders are kicking my ass right now. I checked off the number of signatures yesterday at the county board of elections, out of 133 or so 99 turned out to be good. The minimum required to get the measure on the November ballot for the precinct I worked in was 70.

Of course, my work gathering signatures was not yet completed; someone...

I have spent the last few weeks gathering signatures for a petition to get on the local ballot this November in my ward. The minimum required is 70 signatures, I have 132 by my count. They tell us to get at least twice as many signatures as the minimum requirement, because of disqualifications for one reason or another (writing is illegible, wrong address, filled out...

Well, I applied for a new open position with the county, and it looks like I have an actual shot at this one. It's a records department position, and the starting salary is over $16 an hour. Which would be pretty sweet, if I manage to land the job. I'll keep you posted on any other developments.

good luck.
