Joe Eszterhaus enjoyed a significant run as the number one screenwriter in Hollywood. He worked on popular films like Flashdance, Jagged Edge, and Basic Instinct, but by the mid-90s he had suffered a couple of major misfires (Showgirls, Jade) and was dealing with some health issues. Eszterhaus stopped working for Hollywood and began penning books. His latest is The Devil's Guide to Hollywood which is...

I too also saw the exhibition in T.O. , Then , I think 2 years later, they also did a Mega-Exhibit, and they had most of his props on display...(Including The Mugwumps) Cronenberg is a very curious man, and I guess you would know firsthand...Lucky Bastard, Have you ever read his book that was done right after they did 'SHIVERS'?? It shows the meager beginnings of in Montreal....
Seriously? No one ever gets it, huh?
Do I win something??
Cheers!

Well, its official: hell has frozen over, the fat lady has sung, and Tommy Chong has quit smoking pot. Apparently after you smoke weed everyday for 50 years and then are forced to quit cold turkey when youre thrown in prison, you lose your taste for it. Hopefully that will never happen to me. I got a chance to talk with Chong about his time...

I'd like to say it's sad that he's quit weed, but instead I'll just say, "good for him." He seems like the same cool cat he's always been and somehow I doubt he'll stop fighting the good fight. It is a shame 'bout Cheech though.
Eric Shanower has taken on one of the biggest jobs in comic books: the comic book serialization of the Trojan War called Age of Bronze. Before he undertook this massive responsibility, he created his first major work, creating new stories based on L. Frank Baums Oz books. Now IDW Publishing has reprinted the majority on his Oz work in a beautiful edition called Adventures in...

Eric Shanower is a god, simply put his work is amazing.
Whether it's his work on Oz, Age of Bronze, or Prez with Brubaker, or An Accidental Death. You can't go wrong.

I read Age of Bronze as a sophomore in high school. His graphic novels took my breath away. I never got past the first few, but I did make a scene at the comic book store when I saw there was one I hadn't read. I look forward to the next 15 years!
There was so much to discuss with Roger Corman that I had to buckle down and focus on just a couple of subjects during our short interview time. I decided to pick marketing which (along with B-horror movies) Corman was the king of in his heyday of the 60s and 70s. There has been a lot of hubbub this year about the idea of internet...

I love Roger Corman. I would not be a filmmaker if he had not first made films.
scoo:
Roger is a cool cat. New filmmakers should get to him and work with him. I'm surprised there has not been a tattoo clad of sexy SG types in a script attempting to release their misunderstood identities..of course, the story would have to be set in a prison, or in Bakersfield.
I have a hunch that many of you SuicideGirls members sit there in your squalor-filled rooms, listening to sad songs with a straight razor pressed against one of your major arteries. Well, Tom Reynolds wrote a book just for you! It is called I Hate Myself and Want to Die: The 52 Most Depressing Songs You've Ever Heard, and if you dont want to kill...

i read this book last year.... i really enjoyed it. even when he made point about the river by bruce springsteen and the fans of the song (it's my fave springsteen track) did i fault him... a funny and intelligent read and a great place to start your "depressing" mixtape up... because someone left the cake out in the rain...

The title is the first line from the book, "Prozac Nation".
How coincidental.

It has been a very heady time this past week. Absorbing the newest work of an author like Mark Z. Danielewski can make your head spin. Danielewskis first novel, House of Leaves, became a major cult hit (emphasis on the cult) when it was released in 2000. Since then Danielewski has spent most of his time doing readings and working on his latest opus, Only...

Having checked my sources, no it isn't. Bah, humbug.
Few punk bands have had the longevity of Stretch Arm Strong. This summer they blew the doors off at Warped Tour and coming soon is the big Fall Out 2006 concert at Capital City Stadium. I got a chance to talk with frontman Chris McLane.
