There arent many comic book artists popular enough or even talented enough to have a coffee shop in Nagoya, Japan use their name and designs. But certainly Gary Panter deserves that and more. Panter first garnered attention in the comic book world with his surrealistic character Jimbo, which Panter has now been drawing for about 30 years. Since then hes become a staple in the...

Comedian Greg Behrendt has had a banner year. His book with Liz Tuccillo, He's Just Not That Into You: The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys has sold almost 2 million copies, his standup act is popular enough to sell out large venues and the sitcom he worked on, Committed is doing well on NBC.

I read the book. It should be a bible to the girls that keep falling for assholes.
goodcleanfun:
I agree that he is a funny and talented man, but books like He's Just Not That Into You disguised as hip reading actually make women feel pretty lousy about themselves because they perpetuate the stereotype of woman always trying to please a man and not believing in themselves first and foremost. If you dont look this way he will not like you, so don't even bother. This is like The Rules because it sets guidelines for relationships. I say, fuck guidelines! Like or love who you want and don't waste your time reading books like this. All they want is your money, anyways. I have said my peace.
Due to the success of Shaun of the Dead co-stars Nick Frost and Simon Pegg are now international movie stars. The DVD has recently been released in America and its loaded with cool extras like audio commentary, casting tapes, Simon Pegg's video diary and Edgar & Simon's pitch to the studio. I recently got a chance to talk to both Pegg and Frost in New...

Awesome interview.
Antony Johnston is a very prolific comic book writer who has released many books through Oni Press. My favorites of his are Julius, which transplants William Shakespeares Julius Caesar to the modern day gangster world in England, and Spooked about a fine artist who is no longer inspired because the demons inside her head were exorcised.

Wanted to say Hi back. Food poisoning should be punishable with reverse food poisoning. Do you know who gave it to you? And why? (There's always a reason -- iit's never just "by chance").
I was once on a Food Poisoning list, then I retaliated. And now -- I'm fine.
Wow, by the way, you reminded me of Winged Migration, and now I want to go and rent it and watch it. Along with Agnes Varda's Gleaners and I and Vagabond. We're having a Varda night.
Good luck in Prague with all those *hideous* young things everywhere.

people don't give diarrhea enough lip-service.
I dont know why other people got into this entertainment journalism type thing. But for me a big reason is to get to talk to my idols such as Ray Harryhausen.
The name, Ray Harryhausen, conjures up images of angry skeletons, Medusas eyes turning great beasts to stone and monsters crushing slow running Americans beneath their lizard feet.

I love Ray's work.....I have to search out this DVD....The only reason I have any 8mm film stuff is because of him. I just need a working camera.
Its hard to believe thats it has been ten years since the seminal dance album, Renaissance: The Mix Collection, was released. Now Sasha and John Digweed have teamed up to digitally remix and remaster the album for the modern age. I got a chance to talk with Digweed about the long influence of his work.

Sorry but I don't think Sash and Dig have "top 40ized" electronic music in the same way that Paul Oakenfold has...there's a great distinction between songs like "Xpander" and "Starry eyed surprised" <---
Xpander is such a great song.
its definitely a classic!! i cant wait to see them both at the same time on the 25th!
jodymark:
Nice interview, thanks
Back in the mid 90s Sasha and Digweed used to DJ for these parties in Brighton (UK) called Babealicious, and they were so damn good

At the ripe age of 23, Adam Richman is an already an old man of rock. Growing up in suburban Allentown, Pennsylvania 12 year old Richman was a music prodigy, playing the guitar and the piano then recording himself with computers. All of the music on The Patience EP and the upcoming Patience and Science album was recorded in his parents basement. I got a...
