So much of what I used to remember and cherish has faded into the void.
My memory has never been that good, or at least not for as long as I remember....
*cough*
almost definately heavy drug use when younger and prolonged alchohol use in my twenties contributed to that.

But I have a feeling that everyone forgets. Your life shifts, your direction changes, and...

As A.E. Housman once said:

Into my heart an air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?

That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Where he talks about being able to see into the past, but never being able to revisit it. I do understand what you mean to a certain extent - that feeling of loss. However, perhaps you now feel as if you've lost something you once had, as opposed to gained something that you didn't have before, because you feel unsettled or discontented with your present state.

Know what I mean? whatever

Silverwolf is right - go make new memories smile

I notice I haven't changed my profile pic after all that...

Perhaps later.

I keep on updating for the sake of it. I feel I need to so I look for something to say. Bit silly really. I'm also aware that talking about mundane shit like what's happening at work and the like isn't interesting to anyone. I've never really been one to air my...

Well, I rehash rather uninteresting details of my life in my journal too. It is, however, not about the content. It is about the style in presentation. Even when you tell us about your day it work, it is Tarantino. Tarantino, I say!
tarragon:
LOL, no that was a different one. My life is full of cunt. I am the envy of straight men everywhere. wink

Probably time I changed my profile pic as I don't really look like that anymore. I mean, for a start that guy shaves...
And I don't really smoke any more.

Of course that would involve giving a shit.

I don't have a great deal of time to think anymore. Perhaps that's part of the reason why I'm quietly contented at the moment. I've always thought...

Can I cook? Fuck yeah!

In other news thanks for all the birthday wishes. I got hideously drunk as expected, and then a two day hangover. Marvellous.

Isn't it funny the way life moves on without your noticing? This sounds like a particularly birthday sort of sentiment, but it isn't. I've been thinking similar things for a couple of months now for various reasons that...

Thank you. I feel better about being such a dumbass today now.

Happy belated birthday. At least you have a plan though. Most people don't even have that.

am hung over. Friends new bar is nice, cocktail list a bit dull, but the spiced orange sours was very nice. I think it would be good with aperol, and I've got a nagging hunch that the cinnamon/orange combination would set off Fejoa vodka, which is... well hideous really! I've been trying to find a use for that for some time. Perhaps I'll buy a...

My Martini's depend on the mood... An Olive if I'm hungry, and a Twist if she's hot...

And Shaken. Always Shaken, never stirred... And very dry.

Most bars tend to stick with Smirnoff, which at best is passable. I can't recall the brand I normally have in the freezer (I've run out, and need to make a trip to London to stock up), but it's in a tiny blue bottle, very expensive, and from Harrods.

I shouldn't really be surprised that I feel like death warmed up. In fact I'm quite surprised by the fact I don't feel worse.

Don't ever top up a quadrouple shot of gin with champagne thinking it is tonic water.

Pictures of me making a dick of myself in a top'ntails will follow.
I even shaved... well, sort of.

All my money is out at...

I've got a couple of grand to spare if you want me to buy stuff. NOT!!! My bank balance is -$42.10 and I have 80 cents in the coin tray of my car.

Yeah, *snicker along*. For a geek hairdo, they sure do feel good, when, uh, i'm in bed. Sleeping. Of course. wink

There seem to be rather alot of "bitching about the site" journals around lately. Dissilusionment of members, anger of some of the girls, talk of people leaving in droves, dissatisfaction with the people who run the site... Frankly I feel rather detatched from it all.
I'm well aware that people ocasiionally get banned for daring to dissent in a manner I'd consider draconian (what the...

Ever go to update because you've decided it is that time only to find you have nothing to say? It's almost as if I expect to assume the position and run off a stream of profundity about recent goings on and my frame of mind. That only happens when I'm drunk, and generally the morning after, despite my previous surity, it proves to be a...

Not sure I have all that much to say, but this week has been the first in a long time that I've had time to sit down and catch up with silly things like housework and actually getting online. I'm working far too hard, both in and out of job. I'm frighteningly focused on where I'm going, wherever that may be.
Personal life has also...

1. Homemade grenadine is actually, believe it or not, good. ANd come one, what about a well made mai tai?!

2. "For the sake of giving you my number"...

3. The bar is honest-to-goodness old fart free. For the record.

4. I don't believe you exist. Kind of like the tooth fairy, but more communicative and less financially charitable. Though Keturah seems to be under the impression that you're real... But then I'm beginning to doubt her actual existence also.

Probably just a few geeks screwing with me.

I tell ya that game is scary. People tryin to bite your head off and all sorts. Brilliant.

How`s you?

Wow... I actually got online for a whole evening with nothing to do but sit and type nonsense!

Miracles never cease.

I apologise for not being around here in any way shape or form. All I'll say is it's nothing personal, I just really haven't been keeping my end up online in any sense. I've done the "been really busy, will try to get online...

Mmm, that first half pint and the watering in my mouth as I limber up for the first Marlboro Light... This is something I wouldn't want to live without.

Managed to fix the computer with advice from WelnTaod: he recommended the old classic 'Turn it off and turn it on again' and it worked! Seems I'd had it on 'sleep' mode for so long without shutting it down properly that i had several weeks' worth of applications still running in the background when I thought I'd shut them down.
No wonder it was slow...
