My friend Sarah always posts interesting questions on Fridays, so I've decided to start answering them in my journal.
Note: This has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact that I don't feel like being creative today. Honest.
1. Name one song you hate to admit you like.
"Theme from A Summer Place" by Percy Faith. It's so drippy and sappy and instrumental airy fairy frou frou, but it always makes me think of summer at amusement parks (since Cedar Point and King's Island play it as they're closing), which makes me think of family vacations, which makes me think about how much I loved those vacations, even though I whined like a typical teenager.
2. Name two songs that always make you cry.
"Music of the Night" from "Phantom of the Opera" (long story)
"Angel" - Sarah McLachlan - it makes me think of my mother, who is gravely ill
3. Name three songs that turn you on.
"Age of Loneliness (Carly's Song)" - Enigma
"The Wet Dream" - Lords of Acid
"Oh My Goth" - Razed in Black
4. Name four songs that always make you feel good.
"Five O'Clock World" - Dave Clark Five
"Lime in the Coconut" - Harry Nilsson or the Muppets
"Come Dancing" - The Kinks
"Just Like Heaven" - The Cure
5. Name five songs you couldn't ever do without.
"Mack the Knife" - Bobby Darin - it's my Dad's favourite, and we always dance to it at weddings
"Dead Stars (Radio or Club Mix)" - Covenant - my favourite song to dance to. Ever.
"You Better Wait" - Steve Perry - reminds me of a pinnacle moment at NMU, when I realized I was truly free and starting my adult life
"Everybody Knows" - Leonard Cohen - Leonard Cohen is a god. 'Nuff said.
"Who Stole the Kiszka" - Frankie Yankovic - it's just happy and fun and reminds me of my family since it's a polka
