I had a decent night last night. My friend, suffering from a recent breakup, came over to "get away". We talked in my room for a bit, and then she suggested a walk. I live in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Kalamazoo, and it was a *beautiful* Michigan night.
We looked at houses and gardens, commented on garages that had been stables, walked old horse paths, smelled the new spring flowers, and sat on a bench that offered a view of the city at night. It was peaceful and fun. This neighborhood is old and spooky, and the lack of bright streetlights makes it even spookier.
On Thursday, I'm going to look at the castle-house with the friend who's trying to buy it. I can't wait. I have a huge list of things to check. I read a recent article that spoke of features like a wood-burning stove in the kitchen, lead glass windows, an 8'x8' mirror in the "Great Hall", an antique piano, etc. The owners are leaving all of it.
We're going to have so much fun restoring and repairing if we get it.

I've always wanted to live in castle like house......but I think I'm doomed for apartment living the rest of my life....so I envy your life right now...
