Well, Aaron called at 7:00 and then picked me up. The plan was to get his new table from Art Van, but they didn't have it in yet. So, we went to Best Buy to get him a microwave and then had dinner at a cheap Mexican place and talked about my adoption and his view on charity and children.
I realized then that we aren't right for each other -- he's ready for a station wagon, a career, and a family, and I'm really not into kids or "settling down" yet. I also never thought THIS possible, but we have religion issues. He's Jewish, which is totally cool under normal circumstances, but it would be imperative for me to convert if we dated and became serious. I love Judaism, but I just can't bring myself to entertain the idea of converting for somoone. Anyway, he's very sweet, and I can see him becoming a cherished friend.
After dinner, we ventured to Barnes & Noble to get some books I need for my Women in Lit class. Then we checked out a new store downtown called The Philosopher's Stone. It reminded me of the magic shop from Buffy, so we spent quite a while in there. I can do all of my Christmas shopping in that one store, I swear. I got a tarot deck based on Norse mythology and imagery. Oh my GOD is it GORGEOUS. It has everyone in genuine, period Viking garb, and the name of the card is written in Norse and English. The cards are stunning, and they were only $15.
Now I'm off to do some reading for school before I pass out. It was nice to have a break, make some new friends, hang out with Lydia, and get used to the new house, but I'm ready for the insane schedule again.
