I have found the perfect colors for my room. Painting will commence in one month.
My roommate and I are going to see "Riverdance". This is not the cheesy, spotty, incomplete Michael Flatley version you've had shoved down your throat. This is the Riverdance company (same one he was with) doing the full performance, which is a tale of Irish immigration and acceptance into American society, told through music and dance. It features haunting Celtic/Gaelic music and narration, along with dance, for most of the performance, and then you're exposed to some tap, salsa, Russian, and swing once the Irish move to the States.
I saw it three years ago and was so moved I could have cried a couple of times. The dancing and music were breathtaking and powerful. It was hard not to tap my foot a bit during certain dances, and the applause was thunderous. Granted, I'm a bit biased since I'm a dancer, but even my parents were swept away and talk about it to this day.
Students get 50% off with I.D, and even the most "expensive" seats are a reasonable $40. (They used to be $100 back in the day). If anyone wants to join us, please let me know. You can email me, drop a note here, or call my cell. The show starts at 7:30 PM.
The Story of Riverdance - (the story told on stage, that is).
