In the interest of saving money and paying off some debts, I have taken a second job. (Yes, right at the end of the semester... good plan!)
It's not that big a deal since I worked for this place for so long. I'll be delivering pizzas again, as of 4:00 or so. My good friend, NoPantsDave, works there. Coincidentally, that's how we met all those years ago. He was a manager, and I was a lowly driver.
I've only been gone a little over a year, so I haven't forgotten the computer system, the streets, the in-store procedures, etc. It'll be like returning from a long vacation. I was at the store for three years. It's hard to NOT know the streets.
Part of me is looking forward to it since it means cash-in-hand most of the time, but I know how hard it is on the car. I just have to be more diligent about maintenance and repairs; plus, since this isn't my primary job, I don't have to worry quite as much if the car is in the shop for a day or two.
So, it's back to the world of khakis, uniform shirts, and a ponytail through the back of a hat. I have mixed feelings about it, but it's nice to know I was able to just walk in the door, ask for my job back, and get it. I feel loved.
That feeling will probably last until I get to the first rude customer.
I give it two hours.
