Yup... I was right... it's one of those days.
The highlight of it was when my friend, who has not been able to drive for almost three years due to seizures, picked me up and took me to the bookstore with him. The doctor had cleared him to drive a couple of months ago, so he's been taking it easy and driving for a half-hour each day. He finally feels well enough to run a few errands, which is awesome.
It was very cool riding with him for the first time in ages. We had music blasting and the windows down a bit since it was pretty nice outside. I could also feel the happiness and relief radiating from him. It's been a long, hard road since the seizures had been caused by a head injury in the summer of 2001. He's been confined at home since then since he couldn't drive.
But now he can, so things are looking up.
Other than that, I'm feeling really off. I can't get my blood sugar to stabilize. When my sugar's off, my whole body is off, particularly my brain, so I can't trust my reaction to anything. It'll be something dumb, like a burned meal making me cry, or something retarded making me laugh. The roommate has been warned that I'm not myself. The last time this happened, I growled at her and scared her.
I may lay down with a book for a while once I drink some juice and eat some peanut butter crackers. That usually does the trick.
In the interest of Happy Thoughts (tm), I'm sharing this picture. I was two years old, and I had a fascination with my dad's Army boots. My mom has several pictures of me wearing them. I have my own pair now.

i came in here to say you fuckin rock the house. i've followed you, it feels like, in different groups, boards, and such, and you are just spot-on. i am glad we have people like you here.
just had to say that. a-hem...anyhoo(you're awesome)...
are you hypoglycemic, or other side...diabetic? i am the first of those two, and i know my sugars get out of whack sometimes to where i literally have to focus on my breathing and that i'm still indeed, on this earth. i learned to cut refined sugar out of my life, well--mostly... and limit sugar and go for the ever-wonderful protien. today i was having one, so i grabbed a protein bar, and it was nummy. one i hadn't tried before, and i tend to go for the ones that taste like candy bars, so i'm not missing, or feeling like i'm missing anything.
i also have a few other ailments/disorders/genetic "fuck you" 's, however you wanna see them, and refuse to live my life saying, oh, i can't. i do what i know is good for me though, and you know, low blood sugars, man they're scary. they really are. i hope you feel better.
you rule.
