We've been making use of our huge, old-fashioned kitchen. It feels so good to finally have a place with tons of cupboards and counter space. I also dig our stove, since it dates to the 1930s and has to be lit.
I'm glad we have tons of cupboards, because when you're a Real Cook, you can fill those cupboards in no time. One cupboard is devoted to baking supplies alone.
I can't wait for summer. I missed making homemade jam. You need a pretty big kitchen for it since you need room for the berry cleaning, jars, hot jars, jammed jars, pots, etc. It's actually very easy to make, and I'd be happy to teach anyone who wants to learn. I HATE any jam that isn't homemade (I guess I'm spoiled), so I always make my own. It can be kept in the freezer through the year, so I make about twelve jars and take them out as needed.
My favorite was an Amaretto Cherry that my mom and I cooked up. We used fresh cherries from Traverse City (Cherry Capital!). Mmmm... so good on toast.
1) Do you consider yourself a good cook and/or baker?
2) What is your favorite breakfast?
3) What is your favorite fruit?
- Yes. I've been cooking/baking since I was three.
- Maple/brown sugar oatmeal and peanut butter toast with banana slices on top
- Raspberries

3. The Peach, it has had a sort of sexual undertone for me since youth, and well I'm a pervert dammit!
I love question entries, they are super fun to answer and to read others answers.
If you played in a band would it be a jam band?
I am such a dork!
