I learned something new the other day.

I was telling futt3rm31n390 that I'm Irish and Gypsy on my mother's side.

Apparently, I'm what's known as a "Pikey" since that's what Irish Gypsies were called while in Ireland. I'd always known that there were gypsies in Scotland and Ireland during the late 1400s and early 1500s, but I didn't know there was a name for them.

My curiosity led me to the OED, which defines "pikey" as "a traveler, vagabond". Sweet.
