I fell in love with Dirty Dancing the second I was old enough to watch it (two years after it was released). I loved it so much that my parents bought me a VHS copy for my thirteenth birthday. I still have it, and I still watch it every so often.
I started taking dance lessons shortly after I saw it. I've been in jazz, modern, swing, hip-hop, ballroom, and renaissance classes since I was fourteen, and it shaped me (figuratively and literally) all through high school, college, and beyond.
Dancing is my life, my passion, my SELF. I may be out of shape from not competing all these years, but I still dance. I can't imagine my life without music and movement.
So, who wants to go with me?
